I wouldn't even make local exclusive to the material plane. You should be able to use Knowledge (Local) to determine customs, laws, traditions, etc on other planes as well. The DM can just apply a circumstantial penalty if you're not from that plane.

Unless you have a RBDM who won't allow wizards to scribe divine spells. He won't even allow the druid and cleric to collaborate on druid scrolls.

Experts and Aristocrats can have knowledge(local)... and sure enough they'll have significant power in a town.

Entropic Reaper has DR 10/Lawful and Cold Iron... so it doesn't help you too much. Ki Strike (Cold Iron) would be cool, though, wouldn't it? :lol:

Knowledge (local) isn't keyed to a particular locality. If your character is from Bissel, he can still try a knowledge (local) check to see if he knows anything about the Mayor of Verbobonc, or the particulars of a Bakluni holiday, or the laws that apply while visiting the Theocracy of the...

I'm not really into alignment changes unless a player roleplays it. Otherwise it seems kinda munchkin... but I guess if you're starting out at 12th level it would be ok. As long as there's a backstory.

IMC I house-ruled that alternate form can be used in lieu of "Ability to Wildshape" in feat or class preqrequisites... then I sent the wererat sorceror at them.

I use Andargor's XP chart, so a 12th level character would get 75 xp per CR1, or 38 xp per cr 1/2. All he has to do is kill 320 of 'em to get Uncanny Dodge.
