    Choice feats for bards

I quite like it. Increasing the saves on the music abilities is quite helpful sometimes. SF:Enchantment and Lingering Song are great choices as well.

    Hackmaster. Please explain.

A little bit of both (fixed up) to be honest. To me, it feels like a revised 1e that uses a point build for skills/feats (by a different name) and whatever else. The skill system is great, as it actually works compared to 2e's NWPs. I love the books to death, even if I rarely get to play it...

    Unearthed Arcana: un-sell me

Personally, I really dig the Gestalts, though i'd never use them in a game with 4 or more players. I can absolutely see their usefulness to small groups, though in larger ones the characters could quickly step on each other's toes, not to mention that the DM would have to escalate ELs quickly...

    Gary Gygax health update

Best wishes Gary. You've given so many of us so much over the years, and I hope you have many more healthy ones to come. May you make all of your saving throws handily!

Hackmaster, 4th edition. It's the perfect and most realistic simulation of fantasy combat ever. It can do no wrong, and the GM is ALWAYS right (so long as it says so in the rules)

Amazon.com has Temple of Elemental Evil CRPG for $9.99!

Just letting everyone know that my ToEE is preparing for shipment, and I was charged $9.99, so it looks like you'll get your game if you ordered it.

Amazon.com has Temple of Elemental Evil CRPG for $9.99!

They'll either honor it, or cancel the order outright. I can't think of a single case that an order has been charged the 'correct' price when something like this happened, at least from Amazon.

I guess I'll stay glued to this thread. Some good deals. Hopefully my ToEE won't get cancelled.

Party Treasure: How Do You Divvy?

IMC, gems that aren't usable as components are sold, total gold is divided into # of party members, plus one share for the group fund. Items are distributed according to need, and the party attempts to find buyers for those that aren't useful.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] - Can you Take 10 or Take 20 on a Hide check?

OK, as written that's cool. I still fail to see how one could find many well-made and hidden traps from 10' away. Of course, thats not for you to say. :D Anyway, I don't want to hijack the thread anymore than I've already done :p

    D&D 3.x [3.5] - Can you Take 10 or Take 20 on a Hide check?

There COULD be a penalty for failure, AKA setting off the trap. You don't get 20 tries to find a trap that you could be setting off by searching thoroughly. Granted, not all traps work like that. Pressure plates and the like though, could be set off by hands searching the floor. How do you...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] - Can you Take 10 or Take 20 on a Hide check?

And you never will, at least till it shoots a crossbow bolt into your chest. You can't take 20 on a Spot check, as its reactive. You either see/notice it the first time, or you don't. Not seeing 'it' IS the penalty. Characters don't know they're making a spot check, so there's no way they could...

[Rant] I burned out last night...

Flexor: Check out the Living_Greyhawk Yahoo group. I'm sure that if you toss a post up to the group, there's someone in your area that runs modules regularly. Here in Columbus, there are usually 2 weekends a month of LG somewhere in town, and I can't imaging that in your neck of the woods it'd...
