D&D 5E (2014) Are ability score caps adjusted by racial modifiers, or does every race have the same potential?

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it either. A +1 to a roll is a really large bonus in the bounded accuracy system.

    D&D 5E (2014) Polearm Master feat...where's my spear?

Limited space would be my guess. We didn't get any weapon descriptions (at least in the Basic) either. It would also be a list of a lot of repeating stats. Maybe they will have an extended equipment guide in an upcoming book for those that like little details.

    D&D 5E (2014) Sundering - So what happened?

Can't have anyone competitive against Elminster and company.

    D&D 5E (2014) Polearm Master feat...where's my spear?

It is a spear, just not what most people think of when they hear spear. A trident is a type of spear as well.

D&D 5E (2014) Are ability score caps adjusted by racial modifiers, or does every race have the same potential?

I think this would be a lot less problematic than increasing the maximum past 20. Most characters aren't going to have more than one 20 to begin with. Might want to make an exception for humans though. They could choose one ability score that could reach 20 if they are standard, or the level 1...

    D&D 5E (2014) Polearm Master feat...where's my spear?

I think the spear suffers the same thing other weapons suffer when you can only put one type in the book. There are a lot of different types of spears of varying lengths with different points or blades. I would probably house rule it as even a smaller spear can be technically a polearm, but I...

D&D 5E (2014) Update: Amazon, PHB for $22.50~ (or MM $25.40~, DMG $25.40~), and $10 off when preordering the DMG, MM and something else together

The funny thing is, I had cancelled my PHB preorder a few days ago with the intent to just wait and see what was happening with the digital release. I was looking at the PHB Amazon page and thought that if only Amazon lowered it another 5% or 10%, I would preorder again... then I saw the deal.

This is just a general book promotion that also works with preordered items. It's on every book page you visit.

Only things in the book category. All the miniatures seem to be in the toys & games category.

I do recall similar situations as this in the past where a code was entered on a preorder and price drops. I do believe they adjust it. If not automatically, then if you contact support. Unless you are asking if you can apply the code without cancelling. If that is the case, contact support.

Updated! Thanks to SquareKnot for this new 30% off code. The code BUY3GET30 gets you 30% off the books when you order 3 books or more (maximum $10 return). Add the code before checkout. Add a Player's Handbook to your shopping cart and two $1 or $1.50 books to get your total 3 books and cap...

    D&D 5E (2014) A tweak for humans?

Yeah, unfortunately I think it's a bad idea. Not for the fact that a player will have a 20 or an 18, as you can adjust encounters for that if all characters had them. The problem is that the standard rolling can make a large gap between characters. A monster that a level 1 with a 20 can handle...

    D&D 5E (2014) A tweak for humans?

A +1 in 5e is close to the equivalent of a +3 in previous editions. An 18 ability score versus a 17 is giving a +1 in saving throws, all ability score checks on top of attack rolls or damage. At what point did they claim it was robust? They claimed the math was tighter and it is. That means...

    D&D 5E (2014) A tweak for humans?

A human getting a feat at first level is intended. Feats stay away from unintended ability check bonuses.

    D&D 5E (2014) A tweak for humans?

By breaking the early math of bounded accuracy.

    D&D 5E (2014) A tweak for humans?

Yes, it would. It's the difference between getting a 17 in an ability score at level 1 and an 18. It would allow lower levels to reach their maximum ability score faster than the math intends. A +1 to a check is worth a hell of a lot more in 5e's bounded accuracy.
