They could have included a sealed digital code in each book that would allow the purchaser to download a PDF version of it.

    D&D 5E (2014) How To Make a Good D&D Videogame

I would rather have a D&D game in the vein of Dragon's Dogma or Skyrim with a actual modding tools than anything that's isometric.

D&D 5E (2014) I just don't see why they even bothered with the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.

The worst part of the SCAG is that the only character option supplement book is filled with a bunch of useless Forgotten Realms information. It has about $10 worth of crunch in a $40 book. Unfortunately, you have to buy this if you want things like the Swashbuckler or Bladesinger subclasses...

    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

Seriously. It's one of the major reasons campaigns ended so early. in 1e/2e you might not get to high level because it simply took so long to get there, but in 3e/4e it's because of just how ridiculous the power curve was.

Sword Coast Legends Survey; Plus Ranger Feedback Results!

The only thing that should be 'hard coded' into the ranger should be survival abilities. The rest should be chosen by the player depending on the type of ranger they want.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Another New Ranger Variant

Traditionally in fantasy, rangers are protectors of civilization from what roams out in the wilderness. They are hunters, skirmishers, law enforcers, scouts, and do other jobs that kings and local governments need. I don't know why they keep making the ranger as a protector of nature, that's...

D&D 5E (2014) Sword Coast book - not really a campaign setting? And some speculations about the future

Maybe the actual campaign setting won't have any crunch. One thing is for sure, things are going to get complicated for new players when they start releasing non-FR stuff since they don't have any indicator that the Sword Coast is apart of the Forgotten Realms except a mention of Faerun in the...

If this is the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide, why does it have the Purple Dragon Knight? Cormyr is not in the Sword Coast.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is "Mystic" a bad class name?

It has a long association with the occult and hidden knowledge, not religion per se. In a universe where magic and worship of gods that grant magic is common place, it's no longer esoteric.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is "Mystic" a bad class name?

A mystic is generally someone who deals with things that are esoteric and is associated with the occult. Both Far Realms and psionics fit this far better than anything else in the D&D universe. What else would a mystic be in a universe where magic and the explanation of magic is not concealed?

D&D 5E (2014) Unhappy with Psionics requiring Far Realms flavor

I think this is how psionics in D&D should be, if it's in it at all. It has a very D&D flavor and connected heavily in a way that makes sense for D&D. The whole "power of the mind" generic psionics just doesn't fit.

    Psionics Coming Soon To D&D?

Which was basically reflavored spellcasting with a spell point system. Also, completely overpowered and mostly used to try and roll on the random psionic ability chart. There is already an optional spell point system if the DM wishes to use it.

    Psionics Coming Soon To D&D?

I don't consider psionics 'old school sword & sorcery' flavor. Tradition? Reminds me of one of my favorite Gygax quotes, "There's a number of things in Advanced Dungeons & Dragons that I never should have done. I shouldn't have put Psionics in there, but somebody talked me into it.".

    Psionics Coming Soon To D&D?

I think the Psion could easily be a a Sorcerer subclass. I don't think there was ever anything fundamentally special that psionics ever brought to D&D other than a spell point system. I don't see them adding spell points as a default system for a class since they already have it as an option in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Scimitar

The scimitar and rapier groups are broad that cover different sizes and weights. Also, the actual weight of something shouldn't necessarily determine if it is Dexterity or Strength based, balance plays a major role.
