D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

I've always hated hat, because to me, "raising awareness of an issue" is pretty much the same as paying an artist in "exposure". Thanks for that point by the way, the Susan G. Komen thanks you for your help in their cause.

D&D General Hey, are we all cool with having to buy the same book twice, or what?

they say, completely unaware of the irony of the statement.

So any game with that rule means that the characters basically cannot die outside of extreme circumstances? christ, now I understand why people hate rules lawyers.

That's just a variation on the Chunky Salsa Rule (Any situation that would reduce a character's head to the consistency of chunky salsa dip is fatal, regardless of other rules. ) which is perfectly valid.

D&D 5E (2014) What would you like to see in 5e books?

I've said this before, and will continue to say it until I get it, but a 5e version of the Book of Vile Darkness/Book of Exalted Deeds.

D&D General Joe Manganiello's D&D Campaign Includes a Game of Thrones Creator & Vince Vaughn

And just as your allowed to let other people know your opinion on Joe Manganiello, other people are allowed to let their opinion on you be known.

Y'know if you don't like the conversation you can just... ignore it? So the only possible reason one wouldn't jump off a cliff is because of a fear of heights? Am I getting that correctly?

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

Again with the overly logical thinking.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

yes, that is exactly what I said. I think it says a lot about you that you consider a multiclass monstrosity like Fighter 3/Sorcerer 4/Rogue 7 to be "effective" and not "multiclass munchkin monstrosity with a scotch-taped on story"

Because the person who pulls this kinda crap is the kinda person who's a PITA at the table?

So I'm the negative person for having negative things happen to me?

There's also a thing called post-hoc justification, which I feel is what is happening here.
  13. FlyingChihuahua

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

You seem like the kinda person who watches a movie and thinks that someone making a non-robotic decision is a plot hole.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

Basically you spend a few days of downtime (like 10 or so per level (so going from 4 to 5 would be 50 days of downtime) I think) to get a level. I would also add that you need to have gotten a level the hard way in addition to spending the downtime, though that might just be me wanting to add...

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

If you do the way I would do it is just use the Adventure League's downtime leveling thing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Half (High) Elf Swashbuckler

I would swap off to Half-Elf Variant with the High Elf's cantrip, but that seems like an opinion thing, trade off 1 dex for 2 CHA is a trade that I could see both going for and not going for. Either way, it could definitely be a fun build.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

I mean, it's a fun idea, it's just you get basically everything you need at like 4th or so level. Which, again, makes sense, because the Warlock is the person who bargained for power so getting a good boost early on makes sense. It's just a bad idea for 5e.
  18. FlyingChihuahua

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

The warlock as a class, personally. Though I understand why it's a good multiclass dip (why work for power when you can just buy it?" has happened a lot and is almost always a good story) It is almost never played out that way, and if you do you get people getting mad that you're "interfering...

    D&D 5E (2014) Hex Shenanigans

Rational for them in the world they are in, or rational for you as a player of the game? Besides, rational people are boring. Imagine how boring a lot of stories would be if everyone was rational.
