Pathfinder 1E Ordering Paizo's Shackled City Book/Letting Retailers Know

I'm really looking forward to the Shackled City hardcover, can't wait to have everything organized into one volume (instead of my haphard stack of magazines with random Cauldron details scattered across multiple issues). Plus there's the extra background material, the new adventure, and all...

Running a 3.5 Return to the Tomb of Horrors

One of my favorite aspects of this adventure (and the accompanying classic Tomb of Horrors) are the pictures. It's got a booklet full of pictures for almost every room, trap, and encounter. You should show each pic to the players at the appropriate time.

    DUNGEON's NEW STAT BLOCK FORMAT

The new statblock is great, very nice! :) One concern though is that I always hear about all the supplemental info that was edited out or cut from various Dungeon Mag adventures for space reasons, and I wonder what cool tidbits and extra lines of background info this statblock will be forcing...

Just got Netflix. Name some great old movies.

TCM & AMC are also great for classic movies, Maltese Falcon & Thin Man are both showing next Saturday, and you can catch most of those mentioned every month. Best D&D movie that not enough people have seen is Flesh & Blood (1985, Rutger Hauer & Jennifer Jason Leigh). It's a movie in the...

Final Figures for the 04-05 TV season

Most baffling is Monday Night Football. It's still Ranked #12, yet ABC will be moving it ESPN after next year. I can still watch it there, but they're ruining the tradition!!

    Using mercenaries in adventures?

Arms & Equipment Guide goes into more detail about mercenaries, hirelings, and the costs involved. That was my favorite section of the book. It was 3.0, but the NPC section should be about the same.

    Dream Campaign

I usually find a way to run my dream campaigns, I only dream now that we had time to play more often so that I could squeeze in more of them. But I'll mention here a quirky campaign I've always wanted to run, but that I know I never will because it'd probably get boring. It'd be a high magic...

New adventure path: Age of Worms

Keith Baker suggested: Diamond Lake = Sharn, City of Towers The Spire of Long Shadows = somewhere in Q'barra The Rift Canyon = the Goradra Gap in the Mror Holds the Ebon Triad (who play a large role) = the Lords of Dust

    The Drow War I . . . it rocks!

After reading the details on the Dragon Lord campaign, for some reason it doesn't sound quite as appealing. I'm getting a claustrophobic feeling, everything is in one big mountain? The drow campaign actually does sound intriguing, aside from the cliche "drow invasion". Maybe it's because of...

Recommendations for a Good Low-Level Module?

Tomb of Horrors? :] My favorite 1st lvl module of all time is U1: Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, hands down. The town of Saltmarsh is not detailed, but it's still an integral part of the plotline. The module has cool locations, cool NPCs, cool enemies, cool story, oh it's just cool...

Rules for throwing sand in eyes?

Blinded seems too strong. Dazzled looks perfect to me. If it's a low-magic world, I think it would be fun to allow the tactic to have the equivalent effect of a 0th lvl Daze spell (Fort save to avoid, 1 min duration, sightless or dazzled creatures are immune)

    The Problem with Adventuring Parties

No wait, a great percentage of movies and TV shows DO have the party format. Think about how many times you've seen a rag-tag team complete the quest, overcome the disaster, solve the murder, etc. The party always has the dumb jock, the hot chick, the techy nerd, the angry rebel, the strange...

    Character concept

Sounds good! I think you should take at least something for ranged attacks, you don't want to be totally bored during combat! :heh:

The Spycraft method to Dungeons-what do you think?

How about going one step further; streamline the entire dungeon into one roll. DM: The Caves of Chaos stand before you. If you choose to enter, roll a party level check. This dungeon is DC 11. *clatter-clatter* Player1: 18! Yee-ha, we beat that dungeon easy! How much XP and treasure did we get?

    The Screen

Always. There's usually nothing important behind it, I keep my notes on a clipboard which is often in-hand. But the obfuscation screen is always there....... Hiding something....... What? It's presence presents an extra element of mystery for the players. It's all about mystery!

Anybody got a scroll of "Summon Aeolius"? (the resident aquatic guru) *tap* *tap* *tap*

    Epic Adventurers v. Kobolds?

I agree though that I think it's important to toss in a few push-over encounters every once in a while, to give the party a chance to flex their muscles. For that matter, same goes for a party of any level. It's alot of fun to dominate the opponent and show off, it helps emphasize the fact...

    Epic Adventurers v. Kobolds?

No way, the kobolds of the warrens will KILL your epic adventurers. Kobolds can kill anyone they want. Kobolds cut off heads ALL the time and don't even think twice about it. Kobolds are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time. In my campaign there was this kobold who was...

    Character concept

I would have my cleric totally obsessed with dragons. He'd have a dragon painted on his shield, a dragon painted on his cloak, and the pommel of his weapon would be carved in the shape of a dragon. And of course he'd wear a little wooden dragon token dangling from a chain on his neck. He'd...
