You can do that. Drag the "blank" creature to the combat board, select it on the board, and then click on the "creature" tab of the combat board. You can then enter the saves. Course if that's all you're going to be doing, then yeah, a Combat Management program is overkill.

(Talking about DM's Familiar here) You can edit anything already on the board (change the name, hit points, etc.) but there's no way to add a "blank" creature to the combat board (hmmm, maybe I should do that). Right, the d20 license has nothing to do with the SRD. The SRD goes with the OGL only. Yes I *might* have but I would have been in a very unclear legal area as far as I'm concerned. Do I want to spend a bunch of time writing a software product only to be sued by WotC and have to abandon it? No...

If they wanted to stop "all they legally could" they would not have released the OGL to us. The OGL is what makes all of the tools out there, mine included, possible. It would be real nice if the OGL extended out beyond the core, but to access WotC of stifling "all" is way off the mark.

Be careful of the maximum screen resolution of the LCD. Some LCDs don't support the higher resolutions that a CRT does. You could buy an LCD that, though it had a larger screen area, had a lower resolution than your current monitor so you'd actually end up seeing less (though it would look nice...
