and why is that? because Gygax / TSR needed money and she got shares in return. Without her TSR would have gone bankrupt years earlier, all thanks to Gary and the Blumes

that trick being much harder to pull off once you use games that have more differences than 5e has from A5e and ToV. Combining these is pretty simple, but combining 1e and 4e with 5e will be a lot harder. If you are looking for a common rule between these three, is what you are playing still...

from what little I know of either game, DW was not what you were describing, so the gameplay style you describe DW2 as moving to is essentially that of DW already and the real change is moving much closer to vanilla PbtA

Was DW mostly about dungeon crawling? Never tried it, but I thought it was kinda halfway between D&D and PbtA, and D&D has not been mainly focused on crawling since the early 80s, so I did not expect DW to be. If the change is to get away from dungeon crawling that is one thing, the changes...

that heavily depends on what you back. ENWorld is on time, Kobold Press generally is too, or certainly within a month of it, smaller 3pps / single persons are far less reliable in that regard. Digital is also easier to get on time than the printed books

depends on what you back I guess, for TTRPGs that 40% number should be a lot lower based on my experience, more like 2% to 4% based in what I tracked (not backed…) which is probably around 150 KS over the last 2 years or so

saw the first 15 minutes, how if there is money left over, it will have to go to JG and that they limit the printed copies run to avoid that (so it would be due to a lack of refund requests), they did not mention digital once in those 15 minutes. Good to know.

the video very clearly talks about limiting the printed copies, at around 9:00 to 11:00 this is being discussed. It also talks about the KS only, assuming the KS does not sell out of all available copies (hard to do with digital…), there would potentially be future licensing fees too.
