    My take.

Feng Shui does have loads of butt kicking options. And the badger example doesn't work too well as a counter argument since being able to unload a horde of magically conjured angry Badgers into any Barracks in any era of DnD or RL would be a horrificly effective tactic. Though for my money...

    Paladin. Disappointing

Yeah, the Fighter looks like the very hard close range version of the Controller. Hits multiple opponents and moves people around the battlefield really easilly.

    Paladin. Disappointing

Well, I thought they might be able to modify the action, but that's the glory of the Paladin's ability to set up nasty Catch 22s. And to be fair we don't even know if you can ready actions. Initiative is the system we learned the least about from these rules documents. I wouldn't be surprised...

So we got the sheets, let's calculate the crunch!!

From the promo materials we know the halfling gets +2 dex and +2 cha and the elf +2 dex and +2 wis. From fluff we could guess the Eladrin gets a bonus to Intelligence and the Tiefling gets a bonus to Cha.

    What's all this re-roll stuff?

So far I'm taking action points and rerolls on a per explanation basis. Action points make sense to me as ripostes, feints, or just any ole multi-part slightly more complex maneuver or spell than you could pull off regularly. Rerolls, well... So far, the Halfling reroll makes perfect sense to...

    Paladin. Disappointing

The more I look at the Paladin the better he looks. That high Halfling AC/screw you critical hit combo is a nice first step. Then the Paladin Challenge with throwing hammer? Paladin readies action to hit first monster to attack cleric. Cleric goes in first. He has decent AC and is a...

Do We Know Enough For Players To Plan?

I don't know, I'd still say Tolkien comes out ahead on this point. But if the Eladrin turn out to have an addiction to magic I will retract my statement in favor of your analysis. I suppose both are multi-planar, but the Eladrin do it very differently than the Blood Elves.

    Attribute won't rise (Speculation)

Hmmm. I'm guessing we'll have skill focus more or less at Saga levels. Why? Because I think the system will want monsters and challenges that don't represent true combat threats to still represent good skill challenges. As a game designer you might not want a sentry to be more above level 1...

    Rogue archetypal characters

Leon from the Professional. "The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn." Definitely got the Brutal...

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

I do have to say that one of the things I think sneak attack should do in a more general sense is provide love for small weapons. A two-handed sword should already be doing most of the damage sneak attack provides. A special knowledge of anatomy and the value of surprise is going to provide...

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

Um, not really. The current record on a sling toss is 477+ yards. According to the SRD the longest potential range for a sling bullet is 500 feet. That record is far less than the distances ancient commentators recorded for the sling, and no matter how you trace their accuracy and judgement...

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

I'm just glad to see slings get some love. They are terribly undervalued weapons in most RPGs and Wargames.

Things the rogue class said..and didn't say

That's an interesting idea. I could very easily picture getting different balances of daily, at will, and per encounter. It might cause problems in multi-classing, but very interesting none the less. I did notice that the rogue builds each got two per encounter powers. And I am anticipating...

    Rogue archetypal characters

When wasn't Jack inspiring? He's a fair hand with a sword and has some definite pluck, but it's his legend that's his real weapon. Everyone around Jack is better at what they do if they're his friend and worse if they're his enemies. He's some sort of piratical aristocracy for the love of...

    Rogue archetypal characters

I'd probably do Captain Jack as a Warlord. Maybe with some Rogue and Ranger components as well. Honestly, he's almost too charismatic to be a Rogue. Too good a leader. Not enough of a magnificent bastard. You could make a similar case for Odysseus except he's too much of a bastard, and all...

    Rogue archetypal characters

I think he's saying the character was made with 4E rules. Right out of 4E as in Straight outta Compton - just came from there.

New screenshots of character visualizer, virtual tabletop

Well, I'd like more stylized graphics, but... my main thing is that I want this to be an application I can run on top of a number of other things. I don't want this to be a power concern at all even for a low end computer. So on that level the graphics fill me with some hope. And the dungeon...

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

Generally true, though in the case of the two rogue classes the case for the 4E rogue is still more convincing given that it preserves the original choice categories in addition to offering new options. It may be that the additional strictures on proficiencies, assuming we know how those work...

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

I was specifically comparing to 3.0. For 3.5 both Ranger and Monk have options for their bonus feats that seem to mirror the Rogue's choice of Tactics, but in the end it's still just picking feats. There do seem to be spells that occupy the same slots as powers, but there are also rituals...
