    Please no monster class levels

Personally im against the 3e method, is much too complicated and only serves to hamper a DMs ability to create a game. I would rather give a level 1 wizard some cool abilities to fight the party rather then have to wait to spring a level 7 monstrocity of feats and class levels just to get that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Innovations I'd like to keep in 5E

just to go back to this. 4e didnt ruin the game with its static defenses, it just unified the burden of the attack to one side, the attacker. 4e saves put the die rolls back onto the player with the duration/worsening mechanic. And as I said before, if putting the die rolls onto the player...

    D&D 5E (2014) Innovations I'd like to keep in 5E

I have to disagree, there are plenty of examples of conditions getting worse after failed saves. Yes saves in general are a duration mechanic, but they also function as they once did as well. My Medusa example is a great one, when you get hit by the gaze attack you are slowed save ends, first...

    D&D 5E (2014) Innovations I'd like to keep in 5E

well then just switch it all around, all attacks are defended by the defender, and the attacker has an attack value that the defender beats... I think the point is that it was a unifying mechanic, no longer do you sometimes roll an attack or sometimes defend against an attack, you always just...

Different XP progressions as a means of class balance?

So magic drains experience? casting spells make you forget all of your experiances?

Different XP progressions as a means of class balance?

My game has always supported this, i just allow rerolls pretty much whenever a player wants. I ask only that the race remains the same and we work on a good point to change together. If a player doenst like being a fighter and wants to be a wizard? just reroll a wizard and we'll work on a...

Bloodied and why it is cool.

I find this interesting, because i find that when different races or classes react differently to being hurt much more interesting. For monsters, I like that they get more dangerous sometimes, much like real life sometimes the most dangerous creatures are the hurt ones.

Bloodied and why it is cool.

Things need to be called names. and besides making up brand new terminology for everything (we could call bloodied "halvsies" or something dumb) the options are to use words that are close to what we need. the terms bloodied, damage, hit, miss, etc... might not be used in their exact context...

Bloodied and why it is cool.

I'd like to point you towards fourthcore. and also like to point out that deathspirals are hardly the only way to make a game hard.

The Definition of Hit Points--is it really a deal-breaker?

It really doesn't matter to me, but I would probably be more against it if it was strictly physical damage. I prefer a system where HP is completely abstract, where a batman-esque character can go through an adventure and at the end of it look half dead but is still heroic and the character who...
