    D&D 4E 4e/13thA immersion question and 5e/13thA DoaM question

I find this statement and others like it strange. Why does everyone seem to think that en world is against certain games? I've seen it said that en world is against 4e. A haven for 4e. Against osr. For osr. What is en world for or against?

D&D 5E (2014) Should Next reintroduce new initiative rolls every round?

I voted yes, but I guess I really meant an optional rule. Playing a lot of savage worlds and its variable initiative has made me come around to the whole idea.

2014: The End of Character Classes?

Yeah, it's not exactly like that. Your type contains all of your available abilities as well. The closest you can get to multiclassing is taking jack who's ability list is about half glaive and half nano. but there is still exclusives on either side. For example, there is no way for a glaive...

2014: The End of Character Classes?

As a savage worlds player, I have grown to love classless systems. I am not sure why you lumped in numenera though. It is just as classed as D&D, even more so since you cannot really multiclass.

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

I think racial stats should be something that really differentiates races as a whole. Are shorter people as a whole slower than taller people? perhaps on average, but then again should we have short humans have a speed penalty against taller humans? Should something that is largely a flavor...

How do you handle Experience Points?

I like savage world's XP system. 1-3 xp per session for the whole party depending on how much got done. every 5 xp is an advance, every 20 xp is a new tier. It's simple, no more fiddling with hundreds of xp, and it's small enough in scale where most games a party will advance every other...

    Narrate This 3 HP Hit

I voted other, mainly because of a few reasons. I would have gone with the second or third option but there was no way to vote for multiple. Secondly I tend to allow the player to narrate their own damage. If a player likes to play it off as luck, that's cool. If a player likes their...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

How about the savage worlds way, full color print 192 page rulebook for 9.99? Edit: Ninja'd by Hussar

    post-scarcity science fiction?

In the Nova Praxis game I mentioned, Replicator technology is heavily controlled by the oppressive coalition. Like I said, just because it can make more machines, doesn't mean that it can. These were machine overrides that were built into the machines as well.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

I can understand the duplication of the RC, because it's supposed to be a compendium.

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

They also didn't poll about a lot of things. This isn't a game designed by majority. It's a playtest in which they are asking for feedback on specific items. And if I recall correctly you can write in at the end with comments as well. They are free to ask for feedback on anything they want...

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Yes because 107 votes means something against the unknown number (probably much larger than 107) of surveys they received back.

    post-scarcity science fiction?

Your point of the replicators is a good one. While there may exist a society that has moved past scarcity, that doesn't mean that they are willing to share it. Nova praxis deals with this. One of the societies has moved past scarcity, but the government is a totalitarian utopia.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

I love most of the E Classes as well, the new assassin is actually my favorite class in 4e overall. I don't find the lack of PPs in the book as a bother, there are plenty of them in other materials and there seems to be no issue with choosing one of those instead of whats presented in the books.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

I liked the paperbacks. While I didn't like the duplication of rules in the two heroes book though. I like the size of the smaller rulebooks. They fit nicely with my savage world's books.

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Comparing your polls on subjective opinions on game rules to objective fact is not exactly how to make your point. With that said, the sky can range in color from midday blue to sunset pink to midnight blue

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Well since we don't have halflings in reality, we can only extrapolate. Anyways, I don't understand why speed is the big deal. When things like strength should probably matter more with diminutive frames.

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Are you just spoiling for a fight or did you not understand why I asked the questuon. ULich said he/she didn't mind having 30 speed for smaller races but then said that they should have lower out of combat speeds. Most of the time out of combat speeds relate to overland speeds which is more...

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Because he was talking specifically about out of combat speeds. Which is more akin to endurance running I would say. Marathon running is a field where shorter runners are record holders.
