D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Why? I posted some links earlier that posited that smaller runners may have an advantage due to having to move less mass.

    post-scarcity science fiction?

Imo in a post scarcity society the limiting resource is power or influence. Time could also be a limited resources as well. Depending on the ambition of the society can also provide jerks as well. If the society is in stagnation and is in total contentment with its status I could see less...

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

So I ask you, what would be the appropriate speed? half of human speed? 5' less than a human? Could you use your 6 figure computer simulation skills to model up a realistic simulation so we can finally settle what realistically should happen for smaller races in a fantasy game?

    Also knowledge checks.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

After reading the whole chapter again, I can see the issue. Though I do not believe it's as big a deal as everyone keeps making it out to be. For the most part it replaced a lot of the Static DC + Target/Effect/Item level, with just Easy/Moderate/Hard of Target/Effect/Item level. For example...

D&D 5E (2014) 30 speed for all! Halflings, Gnomes, Dwarves were feeling left behind?

Dwarfism is a bit different than fantasy Halflings. Halflings proportions closer to actual adults than that of children or those with dwarfism.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

Are you sure scaling DCs were not in the original 4e? I seem to remember pg.42 practically being all about it.

    D&D 4.5E (Not Essentials)

It's been a while, but is there any answer to what besides some class differences that essentials destroyed from classic 4e?

Could you share the play test responses you've personally seen? No one vocally complained on the boards, but you have no idea of the survey data.

So let's give the a combat movement penalty but an overland bonus.

I posted both links to show unbias. Here is a quote from the second. The best runners are small and light, with slim legs. “If you have large legs, you have to move a big load,” Dr. Secher said. “The smaller you are, the better you are.” There seem to be conflicting opinions.

D&D 5E (2014) Open Letter to Mike Mearls from a pro game dev

Actually it is you who needs to rethink the whole process. The general rules of combat are roll attack, if you hit roll damage. These rules are the general rules that apply for everyone. The specific rule is that a character with GWF also applies some damage when he or she misses. General...

D&D 5E (2014) Open Letter to Mike Mearls from a pro game dev

The OP him/herself is only intrested in making it a fight too. Describing it as a war. You are right, there is no more room for debate, it's just yelling for the sake of making a big fuss. Because when it gets down to it, that's all OP is hoping for, to make a big stink so that something will...

Sorry if this is obvious, but what is N.E.W? I've seen a few posts about it but no real direct information about it.

D&D 5E (2014) Open Letter to Mike Mearls from a pro game dev

There is one point that keeps getting ignored by the OP, D&D is an exception based game. Specific rules override general rules. If rules did not contradict each other then most of the game would not work. In addition to this simple line in attach basics. Resolve the attack. After the DM has...
