What alignment is this? What would you do?

While true, that mostly means the society is Evil. No, but D&D is not big on cultural relativism. By the norms of their cultures, orcs and goblins and kobolds aren't evil either.

What alignment is this? What would you do?

Yes, 'accomplice after the fact' is a modern concept, but the whole formal legal structure is fairly modern. A medieval society would still punish you, they'd just describe the situation differently. So, in order: Fighting in the Arena: lack of respect for (father's) authority...

What alignment is this? What would you do?

Well, by legal standards I think we're talking accomplice after the fact. He's probably Neutral Evil.

need advice on playing lawful neutral

It's not, unless the lies are malicious and deliberately harmful. They're definately not lawful, however.

    Angels and bribery

Or, he could simply impose a requirement on the summoner, that they repay the debt. Possibly a quite high price. Not that I'd use the prices in the PHB anyway.

need advice on playing lawful neutral

Um..you're misdefining neutral, what you're describing is LE. To quote the SRD: People who are neutral with respect to good and evil have compunctions against killing the innocent but lack the commitment to make sacrifices to protect or help others. Neutral people are committed to others by...

need advice on playing lawful neutral

Hm. This depends on your character's specific interpretation of legality, but while LG characters may choose to break the law in pursuit of a higher good, LN characters generally should not. In terms of honor: The situation with the cohort is clearly dishonorable. The fact that the...

    darkvision & black puddings

The general implication of darkvision is that it can work as a credible replacement for normal vision in situations of total darkness. Given this, the black puddings should not be appreciably harder to see with darkvision in the dark than they would be with normal vision in a lit area.

    darkvision & black puddings

They're further out than the wall. If black puddings were perfectly black, and the walls were perfectly black, the black puddings would be invisible, but neither of those is likely to be true. If you want invisible black puddings, simply have them attack while PCs are wading through water.

    Paladin's conflict

Well, be prepared to bind him for the full moon. At the moment he is being tempted by evil, but has not yet fallen; as such, it is your duty to assist him in not falling. If he wilfully gives into the temptation, well, it becomes a judgement call at that point.

    Paladin's conflict

Assuming he's an afflicted lycanthrope, and hasn't succumbed to his beast nature, he's just under a particularly nasty curse, and should be saved. If he's surrendered to the lycanthrope nature (which seems unlikely if he just found out) it becomes wilful evil, and he must be judged for his...

Dragons Breath, Cone of Cold etc.

Well, if the candle is exposed to the breath, it certainly goes out (it also freezes solid and shatters; candles have low hit points and hardness). In any event where someone's possessions would take damage from a breath weapon, the candle goes out. Other than that, I'd say it probably doens't...

    Transhuman Space?

I'm toying with a Mutants and Masterminds conversion.

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

First of all, the fact that it's a paladin of Eilistraee is pretty important, since the whole 'all drow are evil' part obvious doesn't apply. The ideal response, for just about any paladin, is that a surrendered or helpless opponent should be judged before being executed -- and paladins aren't...

    Monster Advancement and SR

Well, you're allowed to arbitrarily add special abilities. I'd typically add +1SR per +1CR.

    definitive polymoprh?

Unfortunately, the 3.5e fix causes its own problems; you can't use polymorph for disguise purposes any more, it doesn't last long enough. Tempted to invent any 'extended polymorph' spell: Polymorph, Extended As Polymorph, but the HD limit is 1/3 of the caster's level (maximum 5) and duration...

    Lycanthrope

There's no method in the book for becoming a werewolf without it being an affliction. Since you've effectively gained 4 levels (ECL +2, and 2 extra hit dice) the GM should certainly be reluctant to just let you keep lycanthropy as an advantage. If, as GM, I wished to allow a lycanthrope PC...

Rogues and traps and their reason for existing...

There is one common type of trap in the real world. It's called the land mine. Looking at what mines are used for (slowing down and redirecting the enemy) says what traps are plausibly useful for. Which is, well, mostly not in actual living areas. And, most mines are very cheap. In a DnD...

What is most important to YOUR paladin?

Huh? The lich may be intrinsically evil, but it's not _doing_ evil, and is thus a low priority (of course, you have to worry that it's reading books on 'how to summon evil entities from beyond time to take over the world', but whatever). You may be able to do more good by reforming the despot.

[RL History] Why is the longbow better than the shortbow?

That would be because of the draw length and force curve. The energy of a draw is proportional to (force * distance); in the case of a short bow, the distance is less. Of course, realistically a composite bow should do more damage than a regular bow, given otherwise similar size and strength...
