    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

This is disappointing. I was in the iOS beta and I can say it was much closer to a finished product than the web version. I know a lot of people were very displeased by the state of the web version, so I would not be surprised if the vast difference in progress between apps was the deciding...

    D&D 5E (2014) Please Support Eberron!

The way I handled the Nine Hells was that they weren't a plane per se, but rather infernal domains within the other planes--Avernus was in Shavarath, Minauros was in Lamannia, Cania was in Risia, and so on. I reasoned that many scholars thought the hells to be their own plane because one could...

    D&D 5E (2014) Unlock DMG Previews

Eberron fans should note that Keith Baker is one of the participants, and he has asked fans to pledge a buck for him to show support for Eberron in hopes of letting WotC know how many people are eager for support for the setting.... great way to kill 2 rocs with one stone...

D&D 5E (2014) Really want access to DungeonScape

My buddy and I are among the lucky few beta testers, and I can safely say Dungeonscape is pretty sweet. The character creation better than any of the previous electronic tools WotC produced. Since I ma the DM, I haven't had much opportunity to use the character tool in play, but given how much...

D&D 5E (2014) DMG release date pushed back

I'm having no trouble running the game. While I have enjoyed 5e, it hasn't hooked me the way 3e or 4e did. The DMG may be the key to doing so. At various times the 5e DMG has been touted as a book of campaign options, similar to the Unearthed Arcana books. I'm sure it will have the usual DM...

D&D 5E (2014) DMG release date pushed back

More than any book, the DMG will determine if my group fully embraces 5E (without the rule modules, the game thus far feels incomplete to me). So I am disappointed by this news, but I would rather have a better books a few weeks later.

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Binding

I haven't had any issues, but two of my players are having issues with their Players Handbooks. In one case the spine is split but still mostly intact, the other has pages that have come apart... It looks like a quarter of his book is loose-leaf now. Pretty disappointing given the price of the book.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running Eberron in 5E

I'm a little disappointed Keith doesn't know when or how extensive the Eberron support will be... I had hoped WotC would already have him cloistered away working on the book. I hate the fact that the current focus seems to be the Forgettable Realms. I guess they figure start with the bland and...

D&D 5E (2014) Princes of the Apolcalypse/Adventurer's Handbook by Sasquatch Game Studios

I like the idea of sourcebooks to campaigns (I can picture adventures set on the high seas having nautical options, or those dealing with undead having ghostbusting goodness), but I'm not crazy about everything being tied to the Realms. I get why--it's popular, its safe, and easily ties to the...

D&D 5E (2014) Mearls and Crawford interview with The Mary Sue

I will be disappointed if every picture in the game involves characters fighting for their lives, without any images of the post-adventure shopping trip, relaxing in the tavern, or an audience with a noble... or for that matter the unexpected dragon attack during the town fair. They have talked...

D&D 5E (2014) Mearls and Crawford interview with The Mary Sue

I really like seeing more diversity and realistic depiction in the art, but but let;'s not equate a little cleaves with chain mail bikinis. I don't think it would be so bad is a handful of the non-demon females showed some cleavage or midriff (and bare-chested muscle guys)... as long as it's not...

    D&D 5E (2014) Tiefling preview!

I may be in the minority, but I loved the 4E interpretation of the tiefling, so I am very pleased to see it here. I'm sure some sort of half-demon will appear in a future book.

Columbus OH - Seeking Players for D&D Group

My group is looking for one or two more to join our D&D 5E group in northwest Columbus. The four players in our group are in their thirties and early forties. We like a good mix of combat and role-play, and use miniatures and terrain when we play. We usually play three Sundays a month in the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Eberron Musings

Eberron us my favorite flavor of DnD, so I can't wait! I dig the idea of subculture instead of subrace. I think it would look something like this: High Elf = Eladrin (and perhaps Aerenal Elf) Wood Elf = Valenar Drow = Xen'drik Elf Aerenal and Khorvaire elves would be new Stout Halflings =...

D&D 5E (2014) When did your Forgotten Realms depart from official continuity (for world-shaking events)?

Whenever I play FR (not usually my first choice) I always start it off with Drizzt dying in some humiliating fashion. Most recently he somersaulted off a boT off a grand entrance in Baldur's Gate, but somersaulted off a boat, slipped on a fish and broke his neck. As the body was carted off to...

    D&D 5E (2014) [Merged] D&D Next/5E Release Schedule Threads

I'd call it a third. OD&D (won't count it, since it was the original) 1E 2E * (though the '95 reprints don't mention an edition either) BECMI/Rules Cyclopedia 3.0 3.5 * 4.0 (One could argue the Essentials, but I wont)

    D&D 5E (2014) [Merged] D&D Next/5E Release Schedule Threads

I'm not sure why it's news worthy that "Next" or "5th Edition" don't appear on the cover... look at your 3.0 and 4E books: Only 2nd Edition and 3.5 felt to need to put their edition info on the cover.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D "Core" Settings

Somewhere along the way (maybe last years Gencon?) Mearls mentioned the idea of campaign theme books, for example a seafaring book with feats, subclasses, and backgrounds relevant to the sea. I think such books could be a great place to offer lite versions of some of the less popular settings...

Columbus, OH (NW): D&D Group Looking for Players

My group is looking for one or two more to join our gaming group. The four players in our group are in their upper thirties, and have been playing together for years. We enjoy 4E, but currently we are playing D&D Next. We like a good mix of combat and role-play, and use miniatures and terrain...
