    D&D 5E (2014) Not liking Bounded Accuracy

A discussion about trained vs untrained in 5e inherently has to do with much more than proficiency bonus though. You can't make fair comparisons between a high stat, non-proficient individual, and low-stat, proficient individual in this game without considering their racial or class-based...

D&D 5E (2014) A new campaign world for 5th edition: THE WORLD OF MYRR

Honestly, I like to be as positive as possible about this kind of stuff, and I hate trolls, but Matrix Sorcica is not trolling in the least. His concerns are valid - if something is meant to use the rules set of a specific game, and is advertised as doing such, then it should actually do so...

D&D 5E (2014) Accidental cheating due to forgetting action economies?

Yeah, mistakes definitely are not cheating. And mistakes will always happen. It's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment and forgot that you've already used a bonus action or something. Case in point, last night my EK used Shield to avoid a hit, but I then made an attack of...

Remember RAPPAN ATHUK? Own The Campaign Setting!

Just backed this. I haven't owned a campaign setting since my AD&D Greyhawk box set (which sadly was destroyed by my parents during a religious fervour many years ago). This looks really cool to me, hits on the nostalgia for me because it seems to resemble Greyhawk a bit, but I also know these...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Mirtek, you're completely right, I forgot that Dex(Acrobatics) could be used to contest being grappled and to escape a grapple. So it's really just the Strength saves vs proning. Not really a glaring enough weakness to be too concerned about though.

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Hemlock, Thanks for crunching some numbers. This seems to align pretty closely with what I thought: the Bladesinger is an effective melee character, and with the expenditure of a spell or two, the Bladesinger becomes very effective, but not so much as to obsolete other melee classes. Compared...

    D&D 5E (2014) Opinions on Bladesinger

Sure, but the Bladesinger doesn't have 55-60 HP and the ability to take half damage on 1/3 to 1/2 of the attacks they'll take like the Barbarian. And it's not like the Barbarian's AC has to be so much worse; at level 5 while the Bladsinger can rock a 20 AC for two fights each rest using Mage...

Unearthed Arcana Light, Dark, Underdark - November's Unearthed Arcana

Honestly, I think the Undying Light warlock is very cool. I, personally, have been waiting for a warlock option that doesn't seen inherently evil or morally grey. I understand that to some people that's a requirement for a warlock, but certainly not for all tables. Aside from that, I found it to...

New SCAG Info: Someone Got The Book

All wizards can cast at point blank range without fear of opportunity attacks. All casters for that matter. In 5e the only thing that triggers an OA is leaving an enemy's reach (at least by default). The bladesinger's bonus to concentration checks is helpful for all wizards, but especially...

New SCAG Info: Someone Got The Book

Half elves are also allowed, and suggests that the DM remove the restrictions if so desired.

    Natural Attacks Question

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help folks.

    Natural Attacks Question

Do monsters/animals or creatures in general need to make a full attack action to take advantage of multiple natural attacks? I know in the Bestiary it says that any creature wanting to use weapons in conjunction with its natural attacks must use a full attack action, but it does not...
