    Doctor Who (2020) - spoilers!

But remember, just as The Doctor lies, The Master is even more duplicitous. And crazy. It could be his conspiracy theory rather than reality.

    Doctor Who (2020) - spoilers!

The more I watch the older episodes in comparison, the less I like Rose. Bill and Donna are my favorites, but Rose just feels a bit weak. Of course that may be shaped by my love of Lucie Miller in the Big Finish 8th stories, who did the "girl from the projects" in a way I enjoyed more.

    Doctor Who (2020) - spoilers!

This, so much this. I didn't like his first series much, but LOVED The final two. He and Missy were brilliant together, as well, easily my favorite Doctor/Master combo. Jodie's cool, but her first series I missed Peter. I really dislike the three seasons and next format because you get "intro...

Who or what is the Tom Bombadil of your game?

Achmed/Achmed's Axe and Arrow. He's a weapons dealer who can teleport his shop to any of a number of places on the continent. He curates the best stuff, though he's a bit pricey, and has capitalized on the adventurer market. He's about the only source who can also afford to buy/trade magic items.

    The Boys season two (spoilers)

I'm enjoying it thus far. The dynamics and morality are twisted fun. The Homelander/Storm Front looming confrontation will be interesting.

    The Boys season two (spoilers)

Banshee was great, as well. Kai was a good, pragmatic and "realistic" villain rather than a ball of cheese.

    Ranking the (Non-Animated) Film Batmans!

    1. Christian Bale - Definitive and awesome 2. Ben Affleck - Really good at it 3. Michael Keaton - His Bruce was a nice take and it's hard to believe he's only #3. 4. Adam West - Camp with class, but cheerful Batman rubs me wrong. 5 Kilmer/Clooney - All the camp with 87% less fun.

What have you hate-watched and why?

Lord Foul's Bane is great in hindsight because it makes you hate Covenant amidst a hodge-podge of events and seeing how people taking things to extremes tends to bite them hard. There's little payoff in it. The Illearth War is brilliant because it shows the outcomes and interactions, but it is a...

    The Batman Trailer

Not really feeling it. Nice story set up, but uber-emo haircut and suit Bruce is shades of disco Tobey Spidey. They set the possibility Barbara could be Catwoman in this universe, which would be interesting, but I hate the new Batmobile. The mysterious premise seems to be countered by a fair...

Which team will win Super Bowl 50?

Carolina's terrible O-line finally caught up to them and the defense couldn't bail them out, unlike Denver. Manning didn't do any more than Newton, he just didn't screw up as much.

[Feb 2016] What are you watching?

Black Sails is the currently running show I delay little, if not live, watching. I'm caught up on Lucifer and Arrow, ignoring Flash and Supergirl. The X-Files has been pretty decent, though Gillian Anderson needs cheesecake and her voice is a bit rough. Triple D and Good Eats are faves also.

Looking for solo & 2-player tabletop recommendations

Eldritch Horror is fun solo, with two, or however many. Robinson Crusoe, Claustrophobia and Fury of Dracula are my favorites for two players, and Fury of Dracula is great to add in other players who show up later, also.

    Pandemic Legacy

We've played four sessions so far, rocking January, February and March. Then April and really bad card draws hit. When things go bad, they go REALLY bad, like losing a continent bad, and it stays that way. It will be interesting to see if/how we recover. We're still playing with the...

Which team will win Super Bowl 50?

If Denver can exploit the Panthers' weak offensive tackles, the Broncos can win a low-scoring affair, but Mike Shula and Co. have been very good at scheming to cover Oher and Remmers.

    Preparations for Super Bowl 50?

The day before I'll be playing board games. The day of, I'll be at a party but haven't decided what to make just yet.

    D&D 5th Edition Player's Handbook

2 out of 5 rating for D&D 5th Edition Player's Handbook 5E could have been great, but instead we got a kludgy mess often bringing the worst of previous editions in to play, rather than the best. It's poorly-done fan service that had the potential to be a great product. Instead, it appeals to...

Brigandine, Lamellar, and Aventails... Oh My!

I like it. Nit: That leather armor is a lot fancier than most was.

D&D 4E One thing I miss from 4e...the Saving Throws

So an axe coming at the back of your neck from a suddenly flanking or sneak attacking opponent isn't a situation where you need to save your ass when certain death is on the line?

    Lucifer

It was okay. Tom Milligan, er, Ellis is very Charismatic, and the Showrunner (Tom Kapinos) is the same guy who brought us Dawson's Creek and Californication. Brimstone did the premise much better a number of years ago (and Jon Glover was a far more nuanced Lucifer), but it has potential to be fun.
