    Free hosting for RPG sites?

I'll add Doteasy to the list as well. You can get 20 MB space/1 GB bandwidth, ad-free, for free. More space/bandwidth/services are available at various prices.

If you like Dwarven Forge, check THIS out!

Another excellent gaming accessory line! I'd recommend starting with the Corner Inn. It's one of the pricier buildings, but I think it's the coolest one. Between MBU and Dwarven Forge...sigh ;)

If you like Dwarven Forge, check THIS out!

Ah, beat me to it :) I'll second the recommendation for Discount Hobby. I've ordered a bunch of Grendel stuff from them in the past and was never disappointed. They have a Grendel catalog (.PDF) you can download from one of their sites (Mega Miniatures).

If you like Dwarven Forge, check THIS out!

That's the biggest thing I hate about the MasterMaze pieces. Well, that and the price ;) Thanks for letting us know. I was looking at the Archway myself, but if it's "incomplete", I think I'll pass. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to that sort of thing. Grendel had (has?) some pieces like...

Nebular Cross in possible breach of new d20 stl 5.0

You're quite right; what I was saying wasn't meant as a rebuttal to what you said, but more of a musing on my part. What you said simply go me to thinking that it would have been a better idea for Mr. Taylor to go OGL from the beginning (complete with chargen), so he'd have a complete game...

Nebular Cross in possible breach of new d20 stl 5.0

I would almost think that for an untapped audience, going OGL and not d20 would be better, since an RPG could be stand-alone and not require another book. Particularly if the target audience might be turned off by the idea of having to buy a book containing elements of magic.

"Quality Standards" in the d20 System Guide

It's still in there Version 5 is what I quoted in the first post of this thread.

"Quality Standards" in the d20 System Guide

I hadn't considered the idea it could be retroactive; is that possible? I.e.; does it matter when your product was published, it must adhere to whatever is the current license? <insert standard "IANAL" disclaimer here> Hmm...from the Guide: "These instructions supercede any previous...

"Quality Standards" in the d20 System Guide

How is this different from earlier licenses? I'm looking at version 3 right now, and items 6 and 7 are exactly the same. 4 and 5 in version 3 have been merged into 5 in the latest d20 license, but otherwise it says the same thing.

"Quality Standards" in the d20 System Guide

Haven't noticed this until it was mentioned on one of the lists recently; I'm assuming this is new: From the d20 System Trademark Guide Version 4.0: Quality Standards In determining whether a product complies with community standards of decency, Wizards of the Coast uses, but is not limited to...

[OT] First World War PC game...?

I think you're thinking about Iron Storm. It's not quite WWI (it's 1964, WWI never having ended), but it's the closest one I can think of as well.

    Game hosting question

No, but you do have to allow them access somehow. You can grant certain IP addresses access, so you can allow your friends in and block everyone else out. Or you can open up particular ports, depending on what game you're using. What you have to do varies based on the game and whether you have a...

    Fantasy Calendar Generator?

Oops! :) TableSmith is a Windows program for random generation of things like names, towns, treasure, etc. It can also be used for "non-random" things as well (like the 3.5E Jump calculator one of its users wrote). Basically, it reads in text files ("tables") that are in a sort of scripting...

    Fantasy Calendar Generator?

I have a Calendar generator for TableSmith in the Table Gallery (actually, there are two - one generates a journal-like calendar, the other does a more conventional calendar). It would take some tweaking to get it to work with a specific world, but if you want to give it a try, I can help you out.

    D&D 3e & 3.5e Is Not Really An RPG

Is it really necessary to have rules for morale? I would think that based on the particulars of a situation and the intelligence/personality/whatever of the monsters or NPCs, a DM should be able to adjudicate how they would react. An iron golem, for instance, is likely to fight until destroyed...

CSS Positioning in Mozilla and IE

I'm working on re-designing my website to conform to Web standards and in the process I've finally switched over to using CSS as well (well, more than I was in the past). I've run into a problem, though, that I'm hoping someone here might be able to help with. The layout of my page is based off...

New campaign, new laptop - what shall I install?

Two that I can recommend, both because I wrote them and use them myself, are TableSmith and Campaign Sage. TableSmith: As it says in my .sig, this program will generate most anything you can think of. Names, of course, are an obvious use (and very helpful during a game when you need the name of...

If you like Dwarven Forge, check THIS out!

Ah. DF does sell some "non-fancy" pieces individually (like the T-intersection), but you're right - the most basic pieces come in small sets (the right-angle corner, for instance, is in sets of 4 each). Looks like Mystic isn't selling the individual regular floors, walls, or corner anymore...

If you like Dwarven Forge, check THIS out!

Dwarven Forge does as well. Mystic has some cool-looking pieces. I'd try a couple (to see how well they complement my existing DF collection), but the shipping cost for a piece or two is too high for me.
