The DM's Laptop: what should be on it?

I use the following tools at the table: - TableSmith: name/shop/treasure/book/town/etc. generation - Campaign Sage: looking up monsters, spells, and charts - DM's Familiar: looking up everything else - ActionOutline: an outliner tool; similar to "MyInfo", which I used to use, but it burned...

(VERY OT) I'm thinking about getting an X-Box...

I play more stuff on my PC than my X-Box, but I'm pretty happy with it (and playing something with the wireless controller while sitting on the couch is far more comfortable than playing PC games :)) With games like Halo, Halo 2 (when it comes out), Morrowind, MechAssault, Project Gotham Racing...

Actually, TableSmith is shareware ($5 registration). Sage is free, though. In any case, thanks :)

adventure ideas, need generator or netbook

Numerous resources for TableSmith: - "Instant Adventure Namer" table that ships with the program (link above) - Various user-created tables for plot ideas in the Table Gallery (there's at least a couple in there I can think of) - Other user-created tables at the TableSmith Yahoo Group

    Dungeon #100 out?

I've seen a few references to Dungeon #100 elsewhere in the forum. How long have other subscribers had it? I'm curious whether I just need to be a little patient or if I should start looking into what happened to my copy...

    Morrowind

I thought it was the best computer* RPG I'd ever played. I didn't care for the previous Elder Scrolls games, but Morrowind was incredible. The degree of detail, the graphics, the storyline - all excellent. *: I actually played the XBox version, but it's pretty much the same as the PC.

    Table Generator?

Just wanted to add, in the "3E Generators" table pack in the gallery, there's a Wondrous Items table already. Might be useful as a starting point. http://www.mythosa.net/TabGallery.html

Aaaarg !!! Could use some help

I switched my browser from IE to Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org). It has a feature built-in that stops unwanted windows from popping up (you can tell it to pretty much prevent any activity from happening if you didn't initiate it).

Campaign Sage is a free utility I wrote for quick-and-easy access to information on spells, monsters, and charts/tables: http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html (you'll want to scroll down past "TableSmith", which is another utility I wrote but which is shareware...)

I saw the MATRIX 2 thread SPOILERS ABOUND

I don't recall Neo eating the candy, though he did eat the cookie the Oracle gave him in the first movie.

I saw the MATRIX 2 thread SPOILERS ABOUND

That answers a question I've had for a little while: What real-world places or people are actually named in either movie? I'm trying to think of any; there are real people (i.e.; Hitler) shown in the Architect's TV Dome, but I can't think of any real names mentioned. When Neo is in "the...

    Dungeon list

I recently (i.e.; two days ago) put together and posted a Dungeon index in Excel format to my Website. It's current from Issue 83 to the present (apparently, I never picked up Issue 82 - the first one for 3E). The index can be found at: http://www.mythosa.net/Utils.html I can second the...

    Talislanta: Old vs. New

How much of Volumes I-V of the "Cyclopedia Talislanta" (Bard Games) is contained in the latest edition (the big blue hardcover from Shooting Iron)? I'm not interested in game mechanics so much as source material (ideas/inspiration/etc.). I know some things changed, but I'm basically wondering...

    The worst Roleplaying game ever!!!

Oh my God, what did I almost just see...? I didn't know what they were, so naturally, I didn't listen and went looking for them on Google. Anyone reading this, heed maddman75's advice: do not look for them. Thankfully, my visual focus was elsewhere on my screen when "tubgirl" came up, so I'm...

    The worst Roleplaying game ever!!!

Anyone played "SenZar"? I haven't played it myself, so I can't really comment on it, but it was lambasted pretty bad on Usenet a few years ago. It sounded like an attempt by Beavis and Butthead to make an Epic-level Heavy Metal RPG. I followed the link to the "Hybrid" site, and was reminded of...
