I would definitely go for a high-res Palm (the Clie or Palm's Tungsten), but for me the price is prohibitive. High-res color, that is. I believe HandEra (http://www.handera.com/) has a B&W Palm with a hi-res screen, though I believe it's still a bit higher in price.
