Ongoing Campaign, New PC: What Level?

For new characters for new players, they come in at the lowest level in the party. Replacement characters, whether they are for dead PCs or retired, get to come in at the XP of the PC they are replacing. In years past, I've used a variety of systems to determine the XP of new PCs. Eventually, I...

    Archfiends preview at WotC

It looks like the right leg is up in the air, with the talon right behind the beak and to the right of the arm. It's not the best picture; took me a moment to figure it out.

    Archfiends preview at WotC

The Orcus figure doesn't look like Orcus to me; the head isn't ram-like enough. This is what he should look like :) Of course, I need to paint mine yet... Regardless, I'll still use the fig for a cool-looking demon. The Vrock's not too bad, either.

In need of free web space.

I've had good luck with Doteasy. They have a free service with 20 MB of space and 1 GB bandwidth. I don't use the free service any more (not enough disk space or bandwidth for me), but one of the ones with a monthly fee. Never had a problem with FTP access, though I don't believe they offer a...

EsoTerrana voting changed to new thread

I apologize if I sounded too critical, I was just trying to express an honest opinion. I figured that would be more valuable than not saying anything at all. I suppose I should have tempered my first post a little more; it's just that animated GIFs are a big pet peeve of mine :). It's an...

Quick Test of TableSmith for PalmOS

SkidAce - Thanks for trying it out! I'll have to look at trying to optimize the code as I continue development, though it looks like performance may suffer a bit on the older models. Hopefully my other utilities will fare better :)

I would bet there have been others who didn't like them, but simply left the site without saying anything. Simply slowing down the animation isn't going to make readability that much better. Nor is having a "busy" static background and placing text on top of it. The old standard of black text on...

EsoTerrana voting changed to new thread

Just a comment on the website: Lose the animated graphics, especially the backgrounds. The bar at the top is distracting enough, but trying to read text that's on top of a background that's moving is hard on the eyes. I don't really understand your "disciple-based" navigation system, either.

Quick Test of TableSmith for PalmOS

I'm using CASL, which is sort of like VB or Javascript, though it allows you to do C as well. I tried NSBasic, but I actually couldn't get the program to work in it. Never did figure out what the problem was.

Quick Test of TableSmith for PalmOS

Thanks for the info! I'd expect the T3 to work well, though I'm curious about something slower. I completely agree! The app at this point is "pre-alpha"; I'm just testing out the speed of the engine. I'd actually forgotten I'd mapped the button :) (Something I was playing around with with the...

Ack! Sorry about that! Not sure what I did... In any case, I've updated the file. This new one actually contains something ;)

    name generator's

Wow, I haven't see that program in years! :) "Name Generator" is actually an early ancestor of TableSmith. It was my attempt to create a Windows-based version of the "Name Synthesizer" program from Logicrucible (anyone remember them?). It's evolved quite a bit since then...

Quick Test of TableSmith for PalmOS

This link is a ZIP file containing two database files (.PDB) and a Palm executable (.PRC). If anyone with a Palm PDA (OS v3 or higher) wants to take a look at it, I'd appreciate some feedback on its peformance. Right now, it's a tad slower than I'd like on my Palm (Zire 71, 144 Mhz, OS 5.2.1)...

    name generator's

<obligatory plug> In addition to the other programs mentioned, TableSmith can be used as a random name generator. I say "can be" because it's not a name generator, but an all-purpose generator for pretty much anything: names, treasure, towns, calendars, books, weather, NPC backgrounds, herbs...

    Website Hosting Services

They do, but you only get 20 MB of web space with 1 GB of bandwidth with the free option. Old One was asking about 100+ MB. Their free service is good, though. I used it for awhile until 1 GB of bandwidth was far too little (I end up using at least two to three times that in a given month...

    Website Hosting Services

I've been using DotEasy for a couple of years now and I've been quite happy. They have a deal right now where, for $8/month, you get: - 1000 MB Web Storage - 20 GB Data Transfer - 100 POP/Web Email Accounts - 10 MB Email Storage Per Account - Email Aliases/Forwarding - Email Autoresponders - 10...
