    Dragon 315: "The Suits"

What about Sam Wood? I'm surprised that he doesn't rate more of a mention.

A Song of Ice and Fire Update

I think you have it there. At one time he could concentrate on his writing. Now his time is split between Q&A, consistency and royalties meetings etc etc. Collectible card games, board games - even if your not designing them, you'd want a hand in anything that is using your 'brand' to sell, and...

[Xbox] Dungeons & Dragons Heroes review

The slow-down and in-game stutter is definitely a mark against it. The reception appears lukewarm from the reviews I have read. It's a damn shame as I was looking forward to a 4-way co-op game. I'll wait for BG:DA2, and amuse myself with ToEE in the meantime.

Adventures don't Sell? Do you agree? Redman Article

I am primarily a DM. I can scarce remember the times I've been a player - they have been few. I can understand this - being a DM requires a significant amount of work (for me at least - I like to prpare ahead). Since I'm not that creative at coming up with adventure plots, and nor do I have the...

Australians - check this out! Cheap miniatures!

Response to 2): which is good news. I like to keep up with what's going on around here in the RPG community but find it difficult as the avenues of information flow are hard to find. Response to 3): I share that frustration which is why I appreciate this information. With only two or three...

Australians - check this out! Cheap miniatures!

And this would be different from Derek and TalonGames how? I never saw this kind of response to his posts on the lead up to the release of 3.5ed, and on other things he has mentioned. I for one am happy to read of things like this which I would not otherwise be aware of. Unlike the US, there...

    Confused about AoO's on mages

When you put it like that... Not so confusing when given some context. Thanks! It would be almost worth it though just to see the look on the player's faces if that happened! Or maybe not...

    Confused about AoO's on mages

Makes sense to me too, except that a hydra can make all of its bite attacks on a normal attack (not just a full attack). Which is to say that it could take a move action and still make a bite attack for each of its heads, and this seems to fit in with the interpretation that it can also make...

    Confused about AoO's on mages

Only a Hydra can make all of it's attacks with a single attack of opportunity. It is specifically mentioned in the creature description: "Feats: A hydra’s Combat Reflexes feat allows it to use all its heads for attacks of opportunity." At least, that is my interpretation. The other is that it...

[Dungeon] Dungeon 102 - Between The Covers

Big Adventures I don't mind that there are only two adventures - one of them is the equivalent size of a adventure module you'd buy off the shelf for AU$20. Now that Dungeon has gone monthly, I don't mind each issue only having a couple of adventures as long as they're of decent length...

Spell Turning vs Dispel Magic (targeted)

Thanks! Yes, the wizard targeted the BBEG with a targetted Dispel, and thus it was reflected. I didn't realise you could actually target a single spell that was in effect on a PC/NPC. Neither of us was aware that this possibility was an option. In the SRD under Target it says either one...

Spell Turning vs Dispel Magic (targeted)

Hi all, Apologies if this question has been asked before. This came up in the game, where the PCs opponent had cast "Spell Turning" upon herself. The PC mage wanted to Dispel that effect with Greater Dispelling, to remove that spell and other wards she had active. Since he was using a...

D&D 3.x Regenerate is useless in 3E. Why does it exist?

There is a spell in the BoVD called "Grim Revenge". On a failed Fort save, the victims hand is ripped off, animated, and begins to attack its (previous) owner. For a 4th level spell it's pretty nasty. So if you have the misfortune of fallling victim to that spell, Regenerate becomes quite useful.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Errata Reporting

MM p12 Solar Spell-like Abilities errata In the section for a Solar's Spell-like Abilties, the ability Power Word Stun is listed in the "At Will" group (after 'polymorph other [self only]'), and again in the "3/Day" group (after 'power word kill'). There is no comma after 'polymorph self...

Australian's can get the 3 core for $139.95

The other stores had something resembling customer service? Any store that has any level of improvement over GP or TS will get my patronage - good to hear that I'm not the only one unimpressed by their CS. Good luck!

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep are now COMPLETED

Compiled story Hey Doc, Any possibility of a Story Compilation, or the updating of your site? I've read through Parts 1 & 2 and was hoping you might compile Parts 3+... any chance of that? Wading through the threads that detail the remainder of your SH is a bit of a daunting prospect... Great...

    Mass Heal vs Undead

The FAQ makes it perfectly clear then - it's a typo. AuraSeer - I've found (so far) that WotC is pretty good when it comes to making a distinction between "touch attacks" and "ranged touch attacks". There is no way that the spell is a "ranged touch attack"; if that were the case, the statement...

    Mass Heal vs Undead

Thanks all! I thought that perhaps it was a typo too. It has proven very powerful against undead even with the save for half, which I use. I'll leave it be - what with it being shifted to a 9th-level spell in 3.5e I don't see the lack of an attack roll of some description being an issue...

    Mass Heal vs Undead

Hi all, I was hoping that some of you may be able to help me out with this question. One of the PC clerics has begun using Mass heal as a Mass Harm against undead. I was looking at the SRD and it described the spell thus: Mass Heal Conjuration (Healing) Level: Clr 8, Drd 9, Healing 8...

Monte Cook speaks ... and he doesn't hate 3.5!

Psi - I'm not sure what you're referring to. If it's my description of GW's practices then I disagree strongly - WHFB is up to 6th ed and you'd have thought that they'd have gotten it right by now, and - while it is the best incarnation of the game thus far - there are still problems with it...
