Daggerheart is up to #73 in all books across Amazon. Woot.

Right. I more mean things like terrain effects having an impact on the fight. If the fight is balanced with certain assumptions (so much incoming damage, so much outgoing damage, etc), then if you add in something that will cause more damage or stress, etc, you're throwing off that balance. So...

If y'all want to fight about clerics and crusaders, please take it elsewhere. It's barely even tangentially related here.

Yeah. Traps are effectively Skulk adversaries. You could pretty easily stat one up and add it to a fight. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do that for traps and terrain like 4E considering how much else is drawn from 4E. Part of the advice is to provide dynamic, moving fights. But they...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

There are already a dozen digital tools made by fans and posted across the net, including on the Daggerheart reddit. I've seen Spencer Starke posting there, so I know Critical Role and Darrington Press are aware of it. I guess we'll see how much they want to go after their own fans.

I was more thinking Cubicle 7's Journeys and 4E's terrain and traps.

TSR Why would anyone want to play 1e?

Why do people play "worse" games when "better" games are right there? It's a question for the ages. The prevailing answer seems to be "because they like it." See any discussion of why people play 5E instead of any other game for plenty of examples. At a guess, most gamers will house rule by...

Looking more at environments. I think you could raid one of the many journey-travel systems for ideas and come up with a few other generic environments and simply string 2-4 of them together to have a passable travel system in Daggerheart. I was also thinking about dungeons using environments...

Well, sort of. But not really. It's more like one's a war cleric and the other is a vengeance paladin. The concepts are so close together as to be almost indistinguishable. Paladins are 75% combat, 25% magic. Clerics are 75% magic, 25% combat. Yes, I know those numbers aren't precise. The seraph...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Up until this news broke I would have put DCC RPG and anything else by Goodman in the clearly safe OSR category. Now, all bets are off. I doubt either of the big two actual play producers would touch anything remotely related to the OSR at this point, no matter how solid gold their reputation.

I doubt he will. JG seems to be playing the victim and we’re the baddies, apparently.

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

The GG-related discord servers are being taken over by a wave of new posters all cheering on the decision and saying all the things you’d expect from the worst, darkest corners of the OSR. Many long-time posters on those same servers who’re calling out GG for this decision are being run off...

It's way more open. Daggerheart I think is maybe the aspirational or idealized version of the game they play. They're nowhere near as scene focused as the game suggests. Matt calls for way more rolls than Daggerheart suggests. Etc. As an example, the Haunted City environment is basically the...

I'm looking more at the exploration environments. There's a total of four. This is their exploration pillar. To me it's a bit lacking. From the structure of environments it's clear these are thematically related moves and dangers and possibly adversaries in a set location. Throw in a difficulty...

Exactly. A campaign set in Sharn is going to be wildly different from a campaign set in Droaam or Karrnath.
