Why I don't GM by the nose

That sounds extraordinarily bold. :hmm: Or else my sarcasmometer is out of alignment today.

    Helpless Gelatinous Cube?

And yet...he's 'The Sage', you were supposed to be able to trust The Sage. :uhoh: But yeah, I dunno about it either. Ah well, either way, anyone can rule as you wish but that at least seems to be the most official response.

    Low Stats = A Thug?

And what about Alex DeLarge? He was a thug and psychopath. Lead a little gang of thugs, except he was charismatic and had Cohorts.

Wow, do I hate rolling for stats!

I dont see how, as I feel Point Buy gives you more direct customization. :-S

    Castle or Not?

Yeah, but it depends on how prevalent such magic and flying things (like dragons are). And for that matter, what would you do differently to cope with such things anyway? Also-on a side note, how do things like Minas Tirith and Isengard compare with real life fortifications...

Question for players: how much reading is okay before a campaign?

OH BELIEVE ME-I know what it is to try to game under a DM who has volumes of stuff he's written for a home setting, (and even translated out of his mother tongue into english no less) and LOVES it to pieces, and expects you to know EVERYTHING. (And becomes upset when you havent read this or that...

Why I don't GM by the nose

I'm just the opposite! I'd like to roll my knowledge Hist/Religion skills and see if I know any cool lore about the statue. Its pint sized so its probably a dwarf deity (not dwarven but dwarf like the egyptian god Geb or other deities) or its the god of cannibal haflings or something known to...

    Why Play D&D?

Prolly been said at least once before, but simply? CCRPG's can be fun yes, but in tabletop....you can do anything in absolutely any kind of world. 'nuff said. When technology advances to the point where any DM can build anything he wants perhaps ala the Virtual Tabletop 4e wanted to...

    Golem Immunity

Yeah, but if you are immune to ALL spells that allow SR, its not something you can turn off. I dont imagine you could be buffed. PLUS -all the Cure Spells and Heal allow SR even though they are fome the conjuration school. So you're screwed out of healing too.

    Helpless Gelatinous Cube?

I dont get it-why can a SNAKE be prone, but an OOZE cant? Either way, they would just be flattening themselves against the ground.

    Golem Immunity

On the subject I note the half-golem template which can be acquired; it gives you some Ability enancements PLUS Golem's Spell Immunity except for specific spells depending on the type of arm/limb/whatever you encorperated into yourself. Has anyone been allowed to take this template in one of...

    Divine Reach/Chain/Will Reccomendations?

I've been working with the idea of DMMd [Reach Spell] or [Chain spell] for a Cleric and/or Eldritch Disciple; I'm trying to figure out what sort of spells I'd have availiable between PHB/PHBII/SPC. Anyone have any reccomendations or a list of good cleric stuff for each feat? Chain Spell...
