    Thouls

Well for starters there are the Caryatid Column's in FF, as for the burning blood there are some creatures that have acid blood as well as the (Magma?) golem. It wouldnt be hard to add that feature I think.

    Non-supernatural horror

On the subject of serial killers and nonsupernatural horror-take a look at the life of real outlaws like Boone Helm and for villains of more 'wealth and taste' take a look at the four nobles in Marquis de Sades 120 Days of Sodom and their horrific acts locked away in a castle in the mountains...

    A nasty trick I'm considering

I agree on the Gas Spores. Check them out, they're old school too.

    Annoying Player HORROR STORIES!!!!

This is why I never game at some other dudes house. No personal affects, none of the baggage that comes with inviting someone to your home nor being in one (stuff happens sometimes) nor the possibility of ever having to remove someone from your home (I have heard plenty of stories on GITP and...

    D&D Fortune Cookies

As for the Word spells, I assume its magical mumbo jumbo just like all verbal components. As for the Symbol I have seen them drawn before-heres the Symbol of Pain: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ph35_gallery/PHB35_PG291_WEB.jpg

    D&D 3.x What do you ban? (3.5)

I personally love divinations, its my favorite school. In the case of info gathering spells, I feel they're within the reins of the Dungeon Master because the Dungeon Master can choose what or how much he reveals. I dont feel they're a perfect shortcut solution unless DM allows them to be...

    rabid squirrell

But dont some carrier species live much longer? If I recall not all rabid animals actually show signs of rabies. On a side note a rabid animal companion would actually be pretty cool for a blighter or something. Would you allow the companion to transmit its disease via its bite? Maybe make it...

    How was that developed anyway?

    Creatures similar to a Cockatrice?

Being turned to stone is worse than dying. Because you are unconscious and not dead...but not alive. Smashing the statue doesnt kill you and give you the release of death. It takes a 6th lvl spell to fix that, as opposed to just dying and using a 5th lvl one.

Best old-school dungeon to get stuck/live in

Dandu It depends. In crook stories its almost always "the necklace", or in adventure stories "the artefact", or in spy stories "the papers". In McDonalds its probably the "secret sauce".

    GMs are sub-standard dungeon designers

Set them free? You have demons bound in your books too? Anyway- players could survive a dungeon IF and ONLY if it is in fact survivable. The only solution would be to make an unservivable dungeon. Instead of putting the heroes in a Death Trap, perhaps...you should just shoot them? And if...

Players, have you fired your DM?

Here's a question: How often has your decision to "fire" a GM been influenced by the availiability of getting a new one?

    Not you typical fantasy setting

No elves, dwarves, goblins, giants, gnomes, vampires, werewolves, mummies and the standard fantasy+supernatural races that have been done in other settings, NOR anthropromorphic races. Hmmmmmmm......and no aliens? 0.o Well since you're averse to standard fantasy races in modern setting you...

Have you ever been "That Guy"?

Sounds like a difference of styles. Huh....what happened to make it stank like that? From the sounds of it you're not usually a gamy gamer and I cant imagine what (if anything) got on it. You could have tried washing it. Since you threw it away you didnt love it THAT much.
