Well, I find that some templates work and some do not. Everytime I apply the vampire template to anything eTools crashes. I have made a 1/2 silver dragon barbarian though and that normally breaks the rules as barbarians need to be chaotic and the 1/2 silver dragon template can only be applied...

To be honest I think they each have their own place. Me personally I use PCGen as a player and for NPC's. Meaning I keep all my PC's in PCGen and when I DM all my major NPC's are done in PCGen. I use eTools for all my DM needs. Encounters, Treasure, Random Tables, etc. It's more my at the...

If I had my way it would be placed within the realms. However, since everything in the core books are greyhawk then greyhawk would probably be the more logical choice. As long as the adventures are fairly easily remodeled for a different setting.
