A houserule idea for Fighter and Rogue multiclass feats

So I have a question; (I believe this has been mentioned once or twice elsewhere, but I haven't seen an answer...) the Cleric and Warlord multiclass feats grant you the class healing powers 1/day. The text of the powers indicate that they can be used each encounter, but only up to twice. So does...

    multi-classing a half-elf ranger

Dilettante gives you another class's at-will 1/encounter. The multiclass feat gives you a class power; how often depends on the class. If you take the wizard or warlock multiclass, it DOES work the same way as Dilittante, giving you one of the spells (pact specific for warlock) 1/encounter...

Why did they not slay the Chaotic Evil Sacred Cow?

Because it was a Chaotic Evil cow (actually, probably a minotaur...), so it wasn't interested in allowing itself to be sacrificed to the gods for the greater good. They tried to sacrifice it, but then somebody got gored, and that was the end of that. :D

    Dragonborn; Favorite racee?

I agree with most of your analysis, but I do think you should consider putting the Half-elf in your list for Paladin. Their scores are both beneficial, and, with the paladin's need for a decent Wisdom, they are well situated to take one of the cleric's at-wills 1/encounter. Of those, things like...

All Possible Ability Scores for 22 Points

I think there are a number of builds that absolutely require a tertiary stat. I'll point to the paladin, just because I think it's the clearest example: Strength and Charisma for damage, Wisdom for many of the beneficial effects from powers (number of Lay on Hands/day, etc.). You can swap...

A GOOD cleric for Keep on the shadowfell

I agree that the pregen is not as well thought out as it should've been. The powers selected (including the suggested half elf dilettante power) don't seem to mesh with the scores as well as they should. But, that said, I don't think it's fair to call a 16 Wis "low." You're losing one point off...

    OK. Absolutely everything is underpowered...

According to the various threads/posts on 4e so far: Half elves? Underpowered. Humans? Underpowered. Tieflings? Underpowered. Eladrin? Underpowered. Halflings? Small, so underpowered. Melee Rangers? Underpowered. Rogues? Underpowered. Warlocks? Underpowered. Warlords? Underpowered. Wizards...

D&D 4E The Quest to use the Half-Elf's Dilettante (4e spoilers)

I think it probably depends on the party. If you have another rogue or a melee cleric or two big defenders, I think Wolf Pack Tactics is a strong candidate for the positioning value. (Actually, I'd also be a fan of the inverse: a Warlord with the Rogue multiclass feat can position the party...

    Ranger > Warlock

I don't think he was arguing that the ranger can't select attacks based on tactics. I believe the point was that the "wizard shtick" you didn't want to consider originally and vulnerability debuffs have a strong potential to increase damage figures. Some of the ranger's attacks will increase...

    Warlord - I don't get it

Same thought. I'm actually particularly interested in playing a Halfling Warlord for the Rogue tactic. As a halfling, you're already likely to be using a shortsword, so if you take the rogue multiclass feat, you can use Wolf Pack Tactics to help line the rogue up, and then benefit directly from...

Dryads can look like hawt babes!

It's disturbing how many people get a woody from a picture of a dryad.

Table of ability scores for each PHB race, MM race, and class

I must admit that I'm a little disturbed by this analysis, specifically the fact that dragonborn are above average for every class except wizard. They get a racial encounter power that lets them make an area attack, the one ability wizards are best at. I know there's been uproar in the past, and...

    Capitalist ethics.

Good point, but it doesn't automatically render the earlier post incorrect. "Value" is a subjective term (as you acknowledge!) determined by the market (i.e. the buyers). A buyer is free to decide that products offered by those who adhere to specific "ethical" business practices---honoring...

Multiclassing, Skill Trainining, and Rangers thoughts and oddities.

That's useful, but, without a more extensive re-write, the conclusion at the end of WotC-Miko's para isn't quite right; it's a minor action to mark, and it lasts until the end of the next turn, so it will benefit two attacks, plus any AoO on the same target in between. That's actually not...

Can you take the divine challenge with the dilettante ability? It's a feature, not an attack.

Characters don't get a usable Pact from the Pact Initiate feat.

I have, thanks. My bad. I'm reluctant to kick this thread, but I do want to ask: since the abilities are pact specific, does that mean that only half-elves will be able to get Eldritch Blast 1/encounter, since it's not pact specific? (Sure, you could trade an at-will for it at level 11 if you...

Characters don't get a usable Pact from the Pact Initiate feat.

This came up in another thread. As it is currently written, the Warlock multiclass feat grants you a pact ability 1/encounter, an ability that only functions on targets you have cursed. The catch? You don't get a curse. The ability is useless! Current proposed solutions: Other suggested...
