Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Does plutonium actually burn? I know uranium burns, but I guess I had never really thought about plutonium...

    Withering [Effect]

The enhancement bonus always applies, quite true, and the stat can't be drained below 0. Are you arguing that a stat item of at least +1 prevents a character from going unconscious as a result of stat damage?

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

This is a radical change from the current rules, since resurrection can bring someone back who is just a pile of dust from disintegrate and true resurrection needs no body whatever. I don't even think (max hit points + 10) x 8 should be enough to stop resurrection.

Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

1 ton of plutonium is so far beyond the amount needed for an explosion it's not even funny. Even if the outer 90% of the golem was simply (the near-inert*) U-238, it would be supercritical and fission as soon as it was constructed. * This is actually cheating somewhat, in that this result...

    Withering [Effect]

It's possibly worse than that, since if your Int is damaged to zero you fall unconscious regardless of whether you have an Int-enhancing item or not. Your maxed out god, then, only has 56 points for the purpose of being damaged/drained. (Of course the +30 still gives the normal bonus to save...

What do you do to mithral?

Well, that's something. If two of you remember that spelling... I'm still having trouble finding mention of it. The Encyclopedia of Arda doesn't mention any spelling but mithril. http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/m/mithril.html Wikipedia's entry mentions the other spelling only in connection with...

    Rpgnow creditcard information stolen

I agree. I canceled my credit card earlier today after getting the email from RPGNow. There weren't any charges on it, though, other than those I made, thank goodness.

What do you do to mithral?

I live in the US, and the versions I've read have the UK English spellings (colour, armour) and "mithril". I would be curious to see where the mythril spelling comes from -- if anyone has an idea I'd like to know.

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

I completely agree with WarDragon here. I don't think that using anime is a good argument: I'd prefer a stronger something stronger than "I saw it once on this show". Now certainly U_K is free to write it however he wants -- but the more he uses things that don't appeal to his audience the...

    Immortals Handbook - ASCENSION

Regeneration 0 is a powerful ability -- all damage from certain sources is conveted to nonlethal damage. Each "point" of regeneration heals nonlethal damage. Fast healing 0 is worthless. Each additional point heals nonlethal damage, if you have it, and then lethal damage -- making an...

    Toys for use as minis

Quite true, Gygax said that several times in his Q&A here. Does anyone happen to have a photo?

What do you do to mithral?

Not in any copies of the LotR, the Hobbit, or the Silmarillion that I've seen. `Then what do the dwarves want to come back for? ' asked Sam. 'For mithril,' answered Gandalf. `The wealth of Moria was not in gold and jewels, the toys of the Dwarves; nor in iron, their servant. Such things they...

    Sacred cow monsters

Umber hulks. Elementals -- just the classic four, at least. Stone giants. Inevitables. Minotaurs. Nymphs. Trolls. Orcs and hobgoblins, if they aren't in the PH.

Deathshead, Tome of Magic p. 81? Good luck!

What sort of product do you want to buy that no one is producing?

Epic material. There's a bit out there, but not much -- and essentially nothing other than monsters (Legends of Avadnu and Quirin Mythology).

What's the lamest monster you've seen made cool, and how?

You're asking us? After Legends of Avadnu and Denizens of Avadnu, I thought you could make *anything* cool.

    Unbalanced pantheons

Interesting, this certainly shows the high-magic nature of the world. How does that work with prerequisites? Do the greater gods benefit from the use of magic by mortals (and thus encourage it), or is its frequency just a side effect of so many powerful magical beings? Very, very...

    Unbalanced pantheons

Hmm, let me pull up the spreadsheet with the exact timing. OK, Ra has been a greater god for 3,920 years or so; the particular anti-undead push is probably 3,850 years long, then, giving him a few generations to assert himself. Hades has always been opposed to the existence of undead, but his...
