    HP: how many per level?

I usually give characters in my campaign either half maximum or half maximum + 1.

Altering subschools around for a new flavor- final version post #16

I like your third idea, but I'd do it differently. Allow wizards to cast spells outside their school, at reduced caster level, unless they take a feat. Of course you'll have to play around with the penalty to other schools (or bonus to the main school) depending on what you want to encourage...

    Monsters new to 3E?

There's a conversion of that monster on these boards (from long ago: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=12748 ), but I don't imagine it's particularly close to the original.

    Boon\Bane Number (Brianstorm)

So the boon/bane could be represented as fractional LA added/subtracted from the character's effective level?

I don't think I properly understand. Could you give an example?

Altering subschools around for a new flavor- final version post #16

First of all, let me say that your divisions are fine now. It's a little lopsided, but so is the core system. Having said that, you're condensing schools, compressing 8 into 6. Light is fine (perhaps even strong), as are elementalism and alteration (since transmutation and evocation are...

    Monsters new to 3E?

Cool, thanks. How do you know that? In any case, I've never subscribed to WD so I only know about this secondhand. Gary Gygax wrote:

How many hp in a block of stone? And what is its falling damage?

69.8 sextillion hit points (~7e22) if you use cubic feet instead (unworked stone, not wall of stone).

    Point Buy: how many BPs?

That's my favorite method as player and DM, although oddly when I'm DMing my players always insist on using some other system.

    Sadistic glass-themed spells

I think this is way too strong. Comparing to fireball and scorching ray: * 32.5 damage (17.5, 14) * Auto-hit (auto-hit, ranged touch) * No save (Ref half, none) * No energy resistance (fire, fire) * No SR (SR, SR) It's surely stronger than scorching ray, the strongest damage-dealing spell at...

    Sadistic glass-themed spells

I really like the spells. I think there's room for a 2nd-level spell, one that lobs glass globes at targets. Base it on scorching ray. Personally I'd keep damage the same but not allow targeting more than one at a given person (since energy resistance won't help), but there are other ways.

Not really, it seems fine and there isn't much to say. Temporalism seems weak, though.

    Monsters new to 3E?

Do you have the White Dwarf issue introducing the flind? I'd love to get the issue #, author name, and maybe even a sentence/paragraph of original description.

Elves and fluff, which elf do you prefer?

I voted for the Sidhe, although I have appreciation of the Tolkien-style elf. I don't like the seelie/unseelie divisions; I prefer more nuanced approaches.

I feel as you do on that point. I don't allow true resurrection or the others to bring back outsiders (other than native outsiders like 20th-level monks).
