    D&D 5E (2014) Soooo, the melee ranger?

I agree that the Ranger has some wonky level up features and that reworking them would give the base class more bite. Although, I will say that the class doesn't need these changes, they would help the class be more interesting. I've DM'ed an archer ranger in Hoard of the Dragon Queen and the...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Ego Whip

I would make the charisma loss effect be an attack vs Will defense instead of automatic loss.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

None whatsoever, but if I can I'd like to say that I only want Arial Black to put his money where his mouth is. That he go on twitter, ask questions and post the replies here for everyone to see. It's clear, and I think you agree, that there's nothing more to gain from further back and forth...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I think that until Arial Black asks some questions on twitter, based on your responses so far in the thread, I'm essentially wasting my time responding to questions from either of you. You've decided that Arial's claim makes sense to you. I would suggest you ask questions on twitter too, it's...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Oh as an added note, here's some example questions you could ask: Are multiattack spell attacks, like Eldritch Blast, resolved simultaneously like Magic Missile? Is Magic Missile the only spell in 5e that has its attacks resolved simultaneously as per the spell? Does the instantaneous...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Just like in the wizards forum, you've proven incapable of understanding what I and others who disagree with you post in regards to your claim. So rather than continue this fruitless back and forth, I've decided it's more productive to get you in contact with a lead designer of 5e so you can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Ask Jeremy Crawford. Provide a tweet response that says you're right. Go ahead, I'll wait. If you can provide me a response from JC that says any of the following I'll admit I'm incorrect: 1. Eldritch Blast attacks are simultaneous 2. All instantaneous spells with multiple attacks are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Ask Jeremy Crawford. I think at this point it's clear that you're not going to listen to anything I have to say. Go ask the designer of the edition.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Right well I guess it's more that I just don't see the value in putting more stock into a definition (which you don't even use in full btw) you've randomly found online, which is unsupported by every piece of evidence presented in this thread, vs the definition 5e actually uses for what the game...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

I've already broken down the steps for casting spells in an earlier post: This is an example in steps: 1. Declare I use Eldritch Blast 2. Use up the action type associated with Casting a Spell and Eldritch Blast (my action) 3. Use any material costs associated to casting the spell I have...

Buying into what Arial is claiming despite all the evidence that shows it's incorrect is your choice. It should be obvious by now that I will not.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Don't put words in my mouth, this is the second time I've asked you not to do that. Instantaneous spells cannot be dispelled, period. The fluff reasoning you choose to attach to that rule is irrelevant to this discussion. They can't be dispelled.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Jeremy Crawford has already directly stated that attacks are not simultaneous. Please read the thread. Furthermore, instantaneous spells can't be dispelled because the rules specifically say that they can't be. Your silly extrapolations aside, what you're saying is complete nonsense. You're...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Yes, I've seen the videos you're talking about with Lars Andersen and it is impressive in the video. However there's been reports that debunk his claims of having recovered a sort of "lost art". So take his claims with a grain of salt. However, it is still impressive to be able to fire arrows...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Both Mearls and Jeremy Crawford were designers for 4e, yes. And we all have to pay attention to changes, it's not just you :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

@Celtavian Fair enough and I see from your post above that Scorching Ray used to actually say that it was fired simultaneously and that all targets had to be picked ahead of time. I think this is because of 4e to be honest. The changes come from there and moved on into 5e once that came out...

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

the whole target dying before the attacks are all done is exactly why the game doesn't have you declare all the targets immediately when using multi attack actions imo. You declare a target when you make each attack in sequence per the Making an Attack rules.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock and Repelling Blast

Your claim that I haven't doesn't make it so. Your personal refusal to accept my response, supported by rules text and Jeremy Crawford's quoted twitter response just now, doesn't make it so... Can you show me rules text that actually says there's something called a "look phase", time tracking...
