    Half Ogre level adj. increase

I like the half-ogre a lot better with LA +1 and two racial hit dice. It works better at low levels than LA +2.

    That Psychic Warrior Claw build

Doing pretty good damage with claws of the beast is pretty easy. Its just claws of the beast plus expansion plus Improved Natural Attack. For example, an 11th level psychic warrior with all of that, using expansion to become huge, deals 8d6 + Strength bonus damage with his claws, and that's...

    Need Help Pricing Ironwood Shield/Armour?

You're aware that you're making the argument that ironwood should cost more than dragonhide because it's worse, right?

    Need Help Pricing Ironwood Shield/Armour?

I'd say it costs the same as dragonhide armor. They seem to be almost identical in actual game effect.

    Wild Mage with Practiced Spellcaster?

Practiced Spellcaster can't increase your caster level to greater than your character level. Thus, the +1d6 caster level overrides Practiced Spellcaster, so you basically take the 1d6 or the Practiced Spellcaster caster level bonus, whichever is better.

    New FAQ (10/12/2004)

You do die instantly to enervation. If using alter self to turn in to an orc resulted in a character who was considered to have 17 HD, then a 17th-level sorcerer turning into a dire bear using shapechange would be treated as a 29 HD creature, because it a dire bear with 17 levels in a class...

    New FAQ (10/12/2004)

The new FAQ is interesting, and I haven’t seen any commentary on it. That’s just a bizarre ruling. So a 20th-level character using alter self to assume the form of a orc dies if he gets hit by an enervation, can be knocked out by sleep, and automatically dies to blasphemy? What the hell? I...

    Warlock Incantations

Nope. They're basically normal spells that he can cast at will.

    Swim Invocation- balanced?

Well, fly is a 3rd level spell, and the fell flight is a lesser invocation. I would say that both swim and water breathing are worse than fly, so either individually would definatly be a least invocation. Both together is a little more questionable, but I think, given the more restrictive...

    Pseudonatural dire weasels

From the SRD: Conjuration Each conjuration spell belongs to one of five subschools. Conjurations bring manifestations of objects, creatures, or some form of energy to you (the summoning subschool), actually transport creatures from another plane of existence to your plane (calling), heal...

John Cooper reviews MMIII, and finds loads of mistakes

Another mistake in the review -- the death giant's initiative is given correctly as +8. (+1 for Dexterity, +7 for guardian souls ability.)

Do you allow the Spiked Chain in 3.5 as-is?

I allow the spiked chain as-is. Never had anyone use it, although I have seen two kusari-gamas. (They're a one-handed version that's in the DMG.) The kusari-gama has worked out well for the person using it (he's a troll barbarian), but I wouldn't call overpowered. He has to give up quite a...

    Auspicious Marking statistics

When you say average, do you mean median or mean? On second thought, I'm not even sure if that makes any difference.

    Auspicious Marking statistics

There are 6 feats in Races of Stone that allow a character to roll two dice and pick the best one for various rolls. I was wondering if anyone with more statistics knowledge than I could figure out how much that actually helps. For example, is the feat that allows you to roll two dice for your...

Real World Experience with XPH Psions?

I have a psion in the campaign I DM, which has just reached 12th level. The psion (who is a kineticist) has been very competitive with the wizard (who is an evoker) so far. The primary problem the psion has faced is that he runs out of power points much faster than the wizard runs out of good...

    Vulnerability to Energy

I'm not sure what "normal" damage is in this context. For example, let's say I have a spell that deals 100 cold damage, with a saving throw for half, and I cast this spell against a fire giant. If the fire giant fails it's save, then it takes 150 damage. However, I'm not sure how much damage...

what does 'immune to magic' include?

What "immune to magic" ability are you asking about? In the case of golems, it means that they are unaffected by anything that is blocked by spell resistance. Thus, a golem is immune to most spells and spell-like abilities as well as some magic items. They are not immune to supernatural...

Is there any mention in the core rules of the cost of an elephant? If not, what price would seem to be reasonable?

Poor confused archer needs feat help.

The Greater Manyshot feat is in the Expanded Psionics Handbook, and also in the PsionicsFeats.rtf section of the SRD. Also, Manyshot cannot be used with Shot on the Run because using Manyshot is a standard action, and Shot on the Run only allows you to use the attack action.
