Barbarian Feat Progression and a question

In regards to Monkey Grip, no. A Large greataxe deals 3d6 damage vs. the normal 1d12. That's an improvment in average damage of 10.5-6.5, or 4. In short, you are suffering a -2 penalty on attack rolls for a +4 bonus to damage rolls, which can be achieved far more easily, and with greater...

    More Fallout D20 News

How early in the Fallout timeline could you play? Does it provide setting information for, say, fighting with the US Army against China?

Does that mean that the system will support called shots, then?

    Fallout D20

Were you planning to make any signifigant changes to the combat system? I ran a d20 Fallout campaign once, but the guns never felt very fallout-y. No critical hits to the eyes and groin, no 500 damage minigun criticals, etc.

    More Fallout D20 News

How does playing as a deathclaw work? All of the intelligent death claws were killed by Frank Horrigan's merry little band, and were sterile to boot, weren't they?

Savage Species - Awaken Construct Q.

Judging from Appendix 2: Compiled Tables, an awakened construct gains an Intelligence score of 4d6, drop lowest result, with no other changes.

    Guess the LA!

What size is it? That can make a big difference. Right now I'd guess about +6.

Sneak Attack With a Thrown Weapon

Flanking only works with melee attacks. If you're attacking with a ranged weapon, you're not "flanking" with that attack.

    Classic Lines from Players

This is from a d20 Modern game. After hitting a minotaur with a stun gun to no effect, the player says "I use Heroic Surge to run away."

    argh! those darned minotaurs

    Per the 3.5 SRD, armor for a Large humanoid-shaped creature, such as a minotaur, costs and weighs twice as much as armor for Medium creatures. For weapon damage, the following table covers it.1d2 1d3 1d3 1d4 1d4 1d6 1d6 1d8 1d8 2d6 1d10 2d8 1d12 3d6 2d4 2d6 2d6 3d6 2d8 3d8...

    New Feat for review

So it improves unarmed strike damage from 1d3 to 1d4? That's an average increase in damage of 0.5. I would make it improved unarmed strike damage by two steps (from 1d3 to 1d6) and add as a prerequisite "cannot possess the flurry of blows class feature."

    Cleave and Great Cleave Question

I was looking at Great Cleave tonight, and I noticed something. Great Cleave doesn't remove the uses-per-round limitation from Cleave, which is what I'd always thought it did. It is a feat identical to Cleave excepting that you can use it any number of times per round. Thus, a character with...

    Archmage and Spell-Like Abilities

10 + spell level + Cha modifier. Its not a spell, its a spell-like ability, so no. Ability Focus would apply though, if you took it. Metamagic feats apply to spells, not spell-like abilities. No. Spell-like abilities use Charisma, and nothing in the Archmage entry changes that. Those abilities...

Cleric casting Spells while using Shield and Weapon

Well, since you can't use a weapon with a hand holding a small shield, its obviously not a "free hand". Loosing or affixing a shield is a move action, so you can't loose the shield, cast a spell, and re-affix the shield either.

Freedom of Movement doesn't work on Hold Person?!

I think it is apparent that hold person is "magic that usually impedes movement", as it paralyzes you. Thus, freedom of movement should work against it. Of course, I would think that otto's irresistable dance would be considered to "impede movement" as well, as it forces you to stay in one...

I see Skip's redefined Polymorph again...

If the "hit points don't change" clause wasn't in there, there would be circumstances under which your hit points would change. For example, a Medium construct wizard changing into a Large construct wizard would gain 10 hit points. So it's not like that clause doesn't do anything.

Rules of the game (SLA part 2)

I would imagine, since dispel magic specifically notes that it cannot be used to counter spell-like abilities, that it can't be used to counter spell-like abilities.
