SWORD COAST LEGENDS: Xbox and PS4!

I am curious if it will be playable (or rather enjoyable) as single player. I get my social urges more than covered with TRPG, so I don't need more interactions with other people if I can avoid it :-)

D&D 5E (2014) How do you handle travelling and navigation?

For weather I use this website - http://www.wunderground.com/history/ (I chose that one primarily because it has the temperature in centigrade, and while I have no problems with feet-to-meters, I can't do fahrenheit-to-celsius on the fly). It has info on what the weather was like at different...

    D&D 5E (2014) Aerial Combat

I could not find this anywhere (unless you mean RAW as in it doesn't say they can't hover). Do you have a page number? Personally I am fine either way, but as you say, it could add a bit to the dynamics of aerial combat if flyers couldn't automatically hover (something like the maneuverability...

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Items found during the game: How do you handle the "oh look, this random dungeon just happens to have that sword my character wanted."

That is true, but considering the average soldier probably wouldn't have proficiency in polearms, unless he was a guard outside the royal castle or in a unit specialized in that weapon, there are more people in the world (at least in mine) that use swords than polearms. Soldiers and guards...

D&D 5E (2014) When does your group take their daily long rest?

Yeah, we only do one long rest per 24 hours and it is (or has so far) always been at night. As you mention, they are free to stop earlier and take the rest of the day off, but the long rest will not have its effect before early morning (I work night shift, so I know it isn't that easy to...

D&D 5E (2014) Magic Items found during the game: How do you handle the "oh look, this random dungeon just happens to have that sword my character wanted."

The price of going for Polearm master or GWF is, that those weapons are much more rare to find in a magic version, while magic longswords and shortswords are much more common. I have never handed out a magic polearm and don't think I ever will.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

To me, the best indicator that 5e is a very good game is that so few things in it (rules or otherwise) are universally hated. Except for a couple of extremes (Beast Master and halfling art comes to mind), I can't think of many rules, game mechanics, etc. that doesn't have at least as many...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Variant Rules

It is good to be reminded that 5e is a great game to try out variant rules and mechanics. I wont use any of these in the near future, but one or two of them might be worth a go when we want to try something different at our table.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

Those two are actually a couple of my favorite things about 5e.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

Out of curiosity, what are the other three (or four)?

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

Not a thing. I house rule a few things to better fit my style, but it is very good out of the box and nothing in 5e is bad enough to actually hate (or even strongly dislike).

D&D 5E (2014) To feats or not to feats...

As has been discussed before, some of the feats are a bit overpowered in some circumstances, but with a few exceptions they seem okay. As for medium vs. heavy armor mastery, +1 to AC is pretty good and if you intend to run around in medium armor, you should consider getting at least a 16 Dex...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I wouldn't base our entire strategy on buff spells. If the difference between a win and a TPK is the use of one very specific spell, maybe you need to rethink your plan. In truth I would actually gladly cast the fly spell (if I had it memorized) on our melee fighter, but I wouldn't keep back...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

Well, in the future when I play a bard or a wizard I am not going to learn Fly, cause it would bore me out of my skull to have to spend an entire battle hiding in a hole.

    D&D 5E (2014) Aerial Combat

Yeah, the last one seems like a pretty good compromise.

    D&D 5E (2014) Aerial Combat

No, not necessarily, but the recent thread on Aarrakocra and their flight ability made me think that it was common for tables to rule that creatures without a hovering ability must move at least some of their move each turn to stay aloft. It isn't something that is really stated one way or the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Aerial Combat

The current discussion about buffing the fighter with fly, in the thread on bounded accuracy, made me think about how to run aerial combat. I haven't had the chance yet to have a battle between flying opponents and was wondering how to run it. Lets take the example from the mentioned thread, a...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

I don't have many magic items in my campaigns either. I have no intention of giving out +1 (or better weapons) to more than one or two of the players by level 10 in my current campaign. My last campaign only ran to level 5, but the only magic weapon in the party was a +0 longsword (which never...

D&D 5E (2014) Pros and Cons of using the average damage on the Monster's stat block.

It depends on the situation in my case. At the start of combat I mostly use average damage for the monsters, but I may change to rolled damage against PCs who are close to dying, for tension. My players doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Array v 4d6: Punishment? Or overlooked data

You are free to ignore the thread if you don't find it interesting. The reason I do, is that I like to learn about other ways of playing the game than me and my group does and while the discussion gets a bit heated sometimes and not everyone seems to get, that there are more than one way to...
