D&D General More details on what to expect from the Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms from Polygon, Massive Amount of Spells & Feats

This part particularly excited me, it means that the 5 focused on areas are basically getting the equivalent to what the Greyhawk region got in the DMG, along with a set of quick setup Adventures for each. These can be tremendous resources for DMs to mix and math in kitbash worldbuilding, beyond...

D&D General More details on what to expect from the Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms from Polygon, Massive Amount of Spells & Feats

Honestly, the options haven't presented mu h difficulty in meshing together in my experience, but I also came of age in an era when we casually mixed 3E and 3.5 like sociopaths, so I might just have a high threshold for messiness. The Race-Species difference seemed in line last time I crunched...

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

    Don't jinx it.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I wouldn't expect much: some bonus skills and a Cantrip or Spell, maybe.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

It's going to really uncover what the current design team feels comfortable doing without UA feedback.

    That's...astounding.

D&D 5E (2014) Amazon US book sales rank.

I think you must mean the 2014 PHB, the 2024 PHB doesn't have a ranking since it is a game not a book in Amazon's catalog.

D&D General Arcane Subclasses UA Survey is up

I started playing with 3.x, and I personally gave the Prestoge Class concept bad marks in the uA survey at the time. Never again, please. I did like the proposed Multiple Class Subclasses, and I would personally have been fine if they had standardized progression to make that more...

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

A step beyond that even...ot is bizarre to equate individual people making career moves (like Perkins with his long broadcast retirement) as mystical occult evidence of a hoped-for business failure in defiance of corporate Quarterly reports.

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

Well, sure, anecdotes are anecdotal. 5E was already so good that improving it is fairly incremental, yes, so the excitement is around things like the logical organization of the DMG (massive, massive improvement) which isn't necessarily "sexy". The real test is commercial success and adoption...

D&D General Arcane Subclasses UA Survey is up

The Wizard updates are a pretty decent iteration on the 2014 counterparts. The Arcane Archer seems a good Elf-ish Fighter that is less spell-ish than the Eldritch Knight. Other than that, no super strong feelings.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Yeah, those 5 are confirmed. We already have playable Govlinoids in Monsters of the Multiverse, at least, though I wouldn't be surprised of they get revisited sooner rather than later.

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

The reception has overall been quite positive...?

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

Extremely doubtful: if 4E didn't do that, nothing recent will.

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

Not necessarily: yellow flag, maybe. Lanzillo's predecessor left because she got a higher job title at Funko Pop, and she took the D&D Executive Producer with her. That was about them pursuing their careers. None of this is new for WotC.

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

The Dragons got some of the biggest tweaks in the new MM, so should be living up to their CR more often at least.

Jess Lanzillo Departs Wizards of the Coast

Honestly, Occam's Razo for Perkins and Crawford is that they had maxed out what they could get from retiring at Hasbro and wanted to change things up (Perkins has openly been ralking about retiring almost the entire lifetine of 5E), and for Lanzillo that a killer opportunity came up.

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

WotC designers aim at pretty unoptimized parties, so as usual the stuff could probavly use buffing up depending on the party and players

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

Yeah, thst is how I would want to tun this, too...however, that could be a very nasty surprise, even a TPK depending on how much it catches the players off.

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

I appreciate the mix of standard "go into the Dungeon amd kill the Dragon" models with weird creative choices here: the latter are kind of necessary to get the adventurers at cross purposes with the Metallic Dragons.
