D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

The term had nothing to do with Sterling or Gibson, and was a joke about how the writers doing that sort of thing were not in tune with the "punk" thing: "Although many works now considered seminal to the genre were published in the 1960s and 1970s, the term "steampunk" originated largely in...

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Robert Jordan hated those covers so much, but couldn't get out of them because contracts. He would mercilessly mock them at signings...

D&D 5E (2014) The Tale of the First World: What Do We Know About it and How Does it Connect to the Rest of the Lore? (+)

I think the DMG does a good job setting up "The First World" as an explanation why one DM's game can have any given piece of D&D in it: infinite echoes and reusable pieces.

How dare you take a reasonable and balanced position, in clear violation of the sacred traditions of the fandom.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

I crunched the numbers on them back in the day, they were basically just Feats same as Supernatural Gifts. Reworking them to be in line with the new PHB would make a lot of sense.

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Technically contemporary, but I found his work already dated 20+ years ago when I was a teenager getting into 3E. Time has not been kind to it, unlike say the 2014 core books. But again, the new books are a new high watermark for D&D art.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Update those Species options, change the Dark Gifs to 2024 Backgrounds with distinct Feats, develop a few Campaign Models and throw in some Spoooooky Bastions qnd Monsters...got the makings of a book.

D&D 5E (2024) Potential other "rules expansion" books

That was TSR's official line in 1E for the FR, and Ed Greenwood ar least was always clear about that. What Greenwowas also doing, that I only realized recently, was essentially DM a huge shared campaign with the Lore Enthusiasts. He always made it clear thst DMs should make the FR their own...

D&D 5E (2024) Potential other "rules expansion" books

A "Rules Expansion" similar to what we are seeing for Ebwrron actually seem to me to be perfect to finish those Settings: some player options, some more Mosnters, and more importantly those Campaign models.

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Eberron as a Magic the Gathering Srt would be perfect: the major nations in the Last War and various factions soap interestingly to the 5 Color.

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Personally, I always kind of reacted negatively to Wayne Reynolds style, and I do not feel time has been kind to it. Feels very 90s, in an unfortunate way. For me, that is the lowest of bars and honestly always held Eberron back as it did the rest of 3E. The new books, on the other hand...

D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

1920s Pulpiness would be a lot more distinct in a Magic: the Gathering card...which might be a factor in the D&D art design at this point.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Of the 8, 2 are already explicitly Ravenloft, 5 are super good fits for Ravenloft...and 1 is Hexblade, which would fit well enough honestly. It is spooky Dark Fantasy, and Sentient Edgelord Weapons are a bit of pseudo-Gothic horror in Fantasy IMO.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Yes, but each one would fit in Ravenloft quite well: we don't have proof thstt this is for a Ravenloft Rules Supplement, but thst model is certainly a reasonable fit for the material as presented. Re printing every Ravenloft Subclass is, at least, notable.

Your record is, indeed, pretty good. However, this UA seems pretty clearly for the October book, so whatever theme the October book is seems tied to these options...which are not Lorwyn related. The Lorwyn Card set is next year so after this UA I surmise thst the Lorwyn RPG tie-in will be...
