Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Yeah, that's the sad part. Makes their earlier stance seem similarly mercenary.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

But was it announced for a simultaneously releasez or was that a marketing plot to sell bundles and Beyond content...? Honestly don't remember. I think now that Lorwyn is coming next year, since these are not Lorwyn-centric options and are clearly for the October product: which tracks with the...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Not that it makes up for...all of the rest of that...but I will give then the benefit of the doubt that salvaging thst campaign might be part of the project here. Dunno how many backers from back then even still want it...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Not really? Once they announce a date they have been very consistent on meeting it (except for the recall on the Deck or Many Things). That's part of why they don't seem to announce things often. Still, a UA in May for a release in October is a normal turnaround, and since they have announced a...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

There was the production issue witht he physical Deck of Many Things, bit that is a special circumstance. Other than that, the unannounced and then quietly canceled without ever being announced Elemental Evil splat book is the closest I can think of...and that is over a decade ago.

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

I mean, pumping up Buck Roger's was her long time family busienss: she is actually still today working on that, as of very recently.

And nothing risked, nothing gained. It is way outside of my generation (I was 5 at this point in time), but honestly it still seems like an entirely reasonable project on paper, even in retrospect knowing thst not all of those things would line up.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Very dissapointed here, I really appreciated the seemingly strong stance Goodman took in 2020: this action casts doubt as to how seriously they meant that.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

They had previously announced there is a book coming out in October, but said nothing about what it is going to be. So now, in the window for UA on an October release, we get this.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Given thwt all the relevant IP is still in print (that's how they shut down the attempt to take the Star Frontiers name for a new prodict a few years back, they still sell Star Frontiers), that seems extremely unlikely. More likely they want to utilize their IP to make money.

But they took their tune advertising that.

    Yup, DriveThruRPG deplatformed them entirely.

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

Yeah, I appreciated what Goodman Games made, but I also really appreciated that they had distanced themselves from rrslly problematic stuff. Now that seems somewhat disingenuous, more a ploy than principles.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

See, I kind of like this for most Rangers at least: thst means that in combat, the Ranger is going to be an archer or melee combatant primarily, using their Spell Slots more for in-between utility functions...which feels more Aragorn-y?

More than fair. For The deep background: Companies Cut Ties With Judges Guild After Owner's Racist Posts So Goodman Games was one of the publishers that publicly cut ties with Judges Guild over the issues that were never evolved, but now seem to be just...trying to move forward with doing...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

Bingo bingo. And with the setup of the Inner Planes as a Setting in the DMG...that could cover a lot of this ground.

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

See, listed out like that, I see fodder for a bunch of similar Setting booster books more than a reason to expect another Everything book. Some of this are probsvly gone forever (doubt a "Samurai" is coming, ever), and others seem well fit for certain themes.

I think the discussion serves a good public service. Might be worth @Morrus taking a look at the situation for the front page, frankly.

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

Unfortunately, after this update from Goodman Games, it seems that they have calculated that they won't financially suffer from working with the JG folks...which means that their objections at the time of the big eruption ring a bit hollow in retrospect. I shall not be buying anything further...

It is important to note that for trademark...DMsGuild sales count as being "in print" legally, so WotC doesn't need to worry about any classic D&D trademarks.
