I'm guessing no, since they recently ruled that it doesn't affect Paladin smite dice rolls, I believe the intent is it only affects the dice from the weapon itself.

I'm not thrilled about this part of Xanathar's only covering the PHB races and not the EE or Volo's races, especially since it sounds like they DID design them, but they're only going to be available to DnDBeyond preorderers and won't be official.

I like this as the way to go, I would also make allowances for people trying to recognize a spell that they are already familiar with, be it one on their own list, one that a party member casts frequently, etc.

I'm hoping we get the Stone Sorcerer too, though if I had to pick one other Sorcerer type likely to get in, it's Favored Soul. They've taken a couple of passes at it, and it seems like one that lots of people want.

I would say that tweet certainly upped the odds. But I've learned with things like this that until they officially say "yes, it's in", then it's still assumption not fact :)
