    Dual Wield Swashbuckler

I've played a Swashbuckler with the Dual Wielder feat, fighting with a Rapier/Dagger combo, for the classic dueling feel. Went Human(variant) and took it as my bonus feat. I can't tell you if it's the optimal way to go mathematically, but it was definitely fun and allowed me to lean into the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerous Origin - Lichtouched

I really like this, though I will agree that it could probably use a more generically undead/necrotic name(maybe "Tainted Soul" as a contrast to "Favored Soul"?). But that's a very minor quibble. The mechanics of it are nicely done. Horrifying Touch: Chill Touch is a very appropriate choice...

    D&D 5E (2014) Clarification of weapon damage/critical weapon damage for 53

(Great)Sword Of Sharpness - normal damage: 2d6+STR, crit damage: 4d6+STR from "Greatsword", plus an additional 4d6 from "of Sharpness", as I read it. Brutal Critical lets you add additional dice on top of the extra dice you're already getting from a crit. But it's a single die(per Brutal...

    D&D 5E (2014) MPMB's D&D 5e Character Tools

MPMB, VERY cool to see both the latest UA material being added and seeing this sheet backfilled with older UA goodness. Something occurred to me during my game session last night and I'm wondering whether or not it would make for a worthwhile addition to the sheet. I'm playing a Barbarian who...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

Green Lord's Gift says "whenever you regain hit points, you treat any dice rolled" as if they'd rolled their maximum value. Would that not also apply to dice rolled by your party's healer when casting Cure Wounds/Healing Word? You are the one regaining hit points after all, even if you aren't...

Building a Mountain Dwarf Wizard with Int 8. Advice needed

Since you're setting your character up to basically be a melee fighter with fewer HP and lots of utility spells, I'd say Abjurer seems like the right way to go. As far as spell choices, just grab everything without a spell attack roll or a saving throw that look interesting. :) Sleep, Feather...

    D&D 5E (2014) MPMB's D&D 5e Character Tools

I love how hard you work at keeping this sheet current with all the new UA material that's been coming out! One quick note on the Raven Queen Warlock Patron. The "Sentinel Raven" feature is spelled incorrectly, in the sheet it's "Sentinal". A little thing, but figured it's worth mentioning :)

Need help making a Kitsune character

What edition of D&D are you referring to? Because the current edition doesn't have a Kitsune race.

    D&D 5E (2014) Creating my first Warlock

As you can see from this thread, there are lots of ways to build a Warlock. So think about the type of character you want to be, look at the various abilities each type of Patron offers, and get a picture in your head of who your Warlock is, who their Patron is, and what the relationship with...

D&D 5E (2014) 5e. Repeling blast nerfed in our game. Help me to rebuild my Bard-Lock

That GM deserves a slap upside the head. Nerfing one of a character's abilities like that, especially one that's part of the standard class definition in the Players Handbook, just because he threw some combats at you that were tailor-made for that ability? Seriously not cool.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Wizards & Warlocks -- Hexblades, Raven Queens, and Lore Mastery!

The Blade you wield and the Blade that acts as your Patron are not the same thing. Keep in mind, you don't even have to be a Bladelock as a Hexblade(although I imagine Bladelock will likely be the most popular way to go given how well-matched they are). The example given in the UA is Blackrazor...

D&D 5E (2014) New Warlock Pacts: What are your concepts?

You played a lot of Overlord, didn't you? :)

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Wizards & Warlocks -- Hexblades, Raven Queens, and Lore Mastery!

I would agree, and I lean more towards the "must prepare ahead of time" requirement, it's more in character for a Wizard. Burning a higher level slot to change it on the fly feels too much like a Sorcerer's Metamagic, which is my biggest problem with the Lore Master. Too much of it feels like a...

    Archer UA Miscellaneous Multiclass

Trying to build a character with 4 classes is going to be an issue even if they had compatible stat requirements. Plus, your ASI/feat slots may not come for a while, leaving you potentially behind the power curve. And let's be honest, how often do we play characters all the way to Level 20? How...

help with optimizing the Sea Sorc

Well, one of the Sea Sorcerer's big features is to enhance spells that deal cold damage, lightning damage or cause forced movement. So, Cold & Lightning spells would certainly be wise to take. Shocking Grasp, Frostbite, Lightning Bolt, Snilloc's Snowball Storm, Ice Knife, etc. Also Chromatic Orb...

    D&D 5E (2014) New to 5E. Looking for advice on a Monk/Warlock build

At-will means they don't need a Spell Slot, meaning there is no limit on how many times you can cast them. They still have to follow the other rules for casting a spell, however.

D&D 5E (2014) How to deal with Metagaming as a player?

Firstly, I've got to wonder why they're constantly working against you like that? Was this game intentionally meant to have PvP elements like this? Because if not, I doubt I'd have much patience for it, and just leave.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Wizards & Warlocks -- Hexblades, Raven Queens, and Lore Mastery!

Switching the Saving Throw is only once per Rest, so you'll be doing it once every 1/2 battles, most likely. The damage type switching doesn't work on cantrips, so you're limited there too. The damage switching may end up being OP, but that's why they want us to playtest it.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Wizards & Warlocks -- Hexblades, Raven Queens, and Lore Mastery!

How about this: Your Charisma stat isn't just about being charming. It's about the strength of your own sense of self. As a Warlock, your Patron chose to make a pact with you because of your strong personality & sense of self. If Wisdom is the Willpower of the mind, Charisma is the Willpower of...

help with optimizing the Sea Sorc

Pretty sure it still won't work, I believe the 2nd target from Twinned Spell has to be a different creature. Quicken Spell should get you the result you're looking for, though.
