    Pathfinder 1E Pramas on Paizo

Its certainly against my experience. Having options is wonderful and all, but finding players is always important. I've heard lots of people rave about wonderful Earthdawn is, but I've never actually met people in the area I happen to be in (at any given time) actually willing to play it.

Paragon Path names revealed by Jonathan Tweet!

Thats an interesting question. Also- if you can 'opt out' are you a gimp if you do?

    Swordmage-> annoying...

Pshaw. Its to get people who have no interest in 4e realms to buy the book. It often works out for them, as there always seems to be folks with no interest in a particular setting but who are welling to take the crunchy bits. Even if its only about ~10% of the book.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Well, this is unexpected. So, any clues as to how long paizo has been working on this? 65 page pdfs don't appear in a few weeks.

    Rodney Thompson: Non-Combat Encounters

So, wait. You did show the mechanics that you were saying you couldn't show people? And by that, I mean this- That is dangling. Its the same thing that you folks have been saying since October/November- The noncombat stuff is REALLY SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME... but we aren't going to show it...

    Rodney Thompson: Non-Combat Encounters

Heh. Mostly I'm just tired. I've got a rant about sewers in the back of my head too, and how I dislike any system that reminds me of 1st edition Mage: the Angsting, where if the players can BS well, the characters get giant magical bonuses of win.

    Rodney Thompson: Non-Combat Encounters

So, um. To paraphrase the article, 'We can ignore the cynics because their opinions don't count. And there are these really awesome mechanics that we aren't going to show you. In fact, they're the most awesome mechanics yet, and you'll just have to trust us and buy the game sight unseen...

Anyone else notice the weirdness about Defenses?

Something to keep in mind- attacks against the defenses, rather than AC, appear to have smaller bonuses- weapon attacks on the sample pcs were getting proficiency bonuses, whereas magical attacks were not. That covers a lot of the difference.

    All Dailies should be *reliable*

Yep. I agree most of this. The fighter's daily is reliable because its somewhat weaker than other dailies- its 'extra effect' *is* that it is reliable. For most daily powers, it isn't something that you want to throw around without thought. It needs to be a risk, and something you spend...

Warlord Player's job is to tell other players what to do??

Um... no. These aren't linked concepts. If you can move your allies characters (and the power [white raven onslaught] explicitly says you can), it is forced movement. You (or the attacker) pick up someone else's character and move it. You don't need their consent, permission, or anything...

Warlord Player's job is to tell other players what to do??

Unfortunately, from the preview of daily powers, the warlord does both. Sometimes he's just giving you opportunities to act or benefit from, but in another case, he's moving other party members. And allowing other party members to move yet other party members. Unfortunate, and a simple...

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

Really? Never? It was one of my biggest problems with 3.5 and Monte's Arcana Unearthed. If all you had was /day abilities, once you used them, you were essentially playing an NPC class But to yes, to answer your question. People did and do complain about them. They aren't quite as limiting...

    Shifty v/ CC: Who Wins?

The immediate attack from the combat challenge involving shifting isn't an opportunity attack, so it doesn't stop the kobold from moving. When his opportunity attack/movement ability does come up, I would say that the target stops where it is currently trying to move from- otherwise it isn't...

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

I can actually swallow pin the flank. The allies are simply coordinating their attacks enough that the enemy can't withdraw with provoking attacks. Nothing is mystically keeping him there, he's just off balance and can't back out of the melee without exposing himself to attack. Silence and...

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

Actually, it does look fairly easy. You hit things, and the other players do things. All you have to do is hit things and give your buddies the type of action or bonus they want. :) In all seriousness, it will be a lot like the other classes, if things pan out. You get 3-4 class features...

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

It is? Since when? And... for the record, I've lived in the States for 29 years out of 32, and while I've heard the term, I have no idea what it actually does. I can only assume it doesn't guard points, since both teams usually get around 100, and only the last minute or so actually matters.

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

Sports analogies suck. But, as to the power I think its because the power is broken into Hit: <> and Effect: <> Its a somewhat confusing shorthand if its unfamiliar, but I think Effect is independent of Hit, and always takes effect when you use the power. Not sure why the terminology...

    Dragon 363 Blurb

There is a difference between 'being lean' and producing almost no content for, what, 6 months? 1,000 word preview articles take very limit time and effort, and its 90% of the 'content' of the online articles. And again, they're more similar to what was posted on the website before (preview...

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

Hmmm. About what I expected, and I largely like it. I'm not really impressed with White Raven Charge, however. The fact that you can only shift adjacent allies really limits its usefulness- if you get into flanking position you don't want to leave it, and you're not adjacent anyway. It...
