Dragon #361 and Dungeon #152 news

I'd never heard that wizards was using unpublished material. I really doubt it, given that most of the non-adventure stuff revolves around pitching 4E fluff and reporting playtests.

Dragon #361 and Dungeon #152 news

Personally, I think they should have renewed their contract with Paizo for another year if they were going to do such a slapdash job. Man, now I really get why they created Paizo in he first place. Wizards is terrible at magazine publishing.

Dragon #361 and Dungeon #152 news

I wish I could say that I was disappointed in Dragon 360 and Dungeon 151, but that would imply that they are a recognizable iteration of the publication. As such, they are not. See, I liked the adventures but ultimately they're not what makes a Dungeon magazine a Dungeon Magazine. Dungeoncraft...

My Table Rules (Revised and Updated!)

If it solves the problems that you run into on a regular basis, then I'd say you've done your job well. However, some things just feel like a waste of paper. Don't Cheat? Don't damage my things? Let me know if you're not going to be here? These aren't house rules you should have to establish...

My Table Rules (feel free to critique!)

I agree with most of the points raised in this thread, but I've always thought that contentios issues (alcohol consumption, bringing new players) had little to do with the game itself. Here's my House Rules, for example EDIT: In retrospect, the title of the document containing my house rules...

    OotS 500

At first I thought it'd be Haley and Elan, but having considered it, now I'm absolutely sure you're right.

I think I actually like the fact that Rich doesn't make a big deal over the strip hitting a "significant" number. What's it supposed to mean, anyway?

A Technical Look at D&D Insider Applications

That's interesting, but not actually what I was referring to. I assume they'll take some measure to protect this feature, or they, as a publisher, may as well be selling books for one or two bucks a shot. I say this because, if they do nothing, a custome could just go into a store, copy the...

A Technical Look at D&D Insider Applications

But then how does one keep someone from browsing a book without buying and copying down the number? Traditional retail methods don't really work for RPG supplements.

The Great Glut of Gaming Guides at "Go away" prices...

I think this is correct, but I also believe one pays taxes based on the price they paid for it, not the shelf price.

Rules Compendium - is it out yet?

I bought it today after giving it a read through. Keep in mind that I had a 20 dollar gift card burning a hole in my pocket, and if I was spending more than 8 dollars of real money for the thing I may not have gotten it. That said, this is why I got it: I love little touches like environmental...

Way to get girls (?!): the new column for the new Dragon.

I liked it, and it's a good representation of what advantages DI can offer, because this article could never appear in a print magazine. That said, I'm still not stoked over online Dragon to consider paying for it.

Save my Game: The future of online Wotc content?

Yeah, well I'm on the Ramen diet, and that means I've got no money to spend on D&D at the moment. If Wotc wants to migrate all their online content to a pay service, that's fine. But it means they don't care to fight for interest in their company's products because I can't afford to buy them...

Save my Game: The future of online Wotc content?

I really don't think of myself as spoiled when I suppose that I deserve free content, especially when Magic players have been receiving as much for years.

Save my Game: The future of online Wotc content?

Hey, I'm a little worried because Save my Game is now published under Dungeon instead of as a feature. Similarly, the playtest report is under Dragon now. Why did they move these titles to areas that presumably will become pay-only in a few months? I really enjoy Save my Game, but I'm not gonna...

or you could just ask the player if they'd like to swap their level 5 bonus feat or Scribe Scroll or their familiar for the Lore ability.

Oh no! I've only got two (seriously).

    Load me up with Eberron!

I recommend two to three copies of the ECS, unless you have a group of people willing to buy their copies. If you don't, then you should buy at least two- one for yourself, another for the table to look at or borrow.

Bored with knowing what will happen next

Deck of Many things, Wild Magic Tables (Tome of Magic's can be found on wizards' old editions web page), Party goes to a noble's ball, I recommend you put your party in an open-ended situation or one who's particulars depend on random chance.
