    Japanes Sword Additions and Corrections

Considering that that -should- actually be the case 90% of the time if you know how to weild a weapon at all, I honestly don't see what your point is. As I mentioned, a friend of mine had a perfectly hilt-balanced sabre. I know you're wrong here, no point in arguing. I can't believe you've...

Friend of mine had a sabre like that... MAN that was a death stick. Or would have been, were it not all rusty :-(

Anyone not getting the 3.5 books? (at least right away)

I think, as the changes came rolling in, I was just like 'well, we can houserule this, or go back to the old rule for that, I can live with that, and...' so on. The handedness issue in Monte's review was the straw that broke the camel, IMO. I've purchased all of the WotC books to date (in some...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Epic Spell Focus still +6 or is it +3?

I'm ignoring the changes to spell focus, but... More than likely Epic Spell Focus will go the way of Epic Weapon Focus, ie providing a +2 bonus (for +4 total) - but I doubt many people are going to use the 3.5e rules wholeheartedly anyway.

    Japanes Sword Additions and Corrections

It's been awhile since I've been in the SCA. Didn't fight much, should probably start again. For now, though, I do a lot of research for research's sake. :-)

Re: Re: Re: Weight, not Mass. Chain, at least, is right. Plate looks too light and the others seem too heavy, but I've never seen anyone quote lamellar or leather weights :-/ The thing about 'feels like' is that what 'feels like' a 10 pound sword to an average adult male 'feels like' a 6...

    Japanes Sword Additions and Corrections

Err no, they aren't. 7 pounds is the low end, 9-11 pounds seems to be the average. I have heard of one specimen weighing 14 pounds. For lighter models. 3 pounds is typical. Yeah, that's rather inexcusable. Maybe a silly pommel or hilt...

    [3.0] Wall of Iron stupidity

Titanium is stronger per unit of weight. Titanium is not stronger than iron by volume! It can't hold the edge that steel can, to put simply.

    Japanes Sword Additions and Corrections

Put simply, their iron ore sucked. It was both low in carbon and high in impurities, IIRC. Europe had a much richer variety in iron deposits, and had much richer resources to draw from, period. Of course there is experience in making steel. Just that, for the iron ore that would become a...

    Spell DCs

DC 29 Versus DC 31 - and that's for an int 18 starting wizard! 32 with spellcasting prodigy. 33 with an ECL+0 int +2 race. DC 33 Versus 37 with Greater Spell Focus. This actually looks pretty nice, except: At 1st level DC 11 Versus DC 17 (Possibly) Hrm...

    peasants?

Depending on the level of civilization/technology, anywhere from 50% to 95% were involved in the production and distribution of food and water. Taxes usually took either one of two forms, depending on the type of civilization. 1: A portion of all goods - two-thirds of a person's production is...

What world do YOU play in?

No Kalamar, no Rokugan, no other option? I mean, there are a lot of published settings out there. I think all of them save L5R/Rokugan are Unworthy - but I'm pretty sure Kalamar is at least as popular as any setting in the list save homebrew, Greyhawk and FR.

    Deck of Many Things question...

The wording on Eurayle would suggest so. I tend to think of the Fates as being the Ubercard, myself. It's like getting a specific sort of wish that, no matter what, will work.

    Adult: GUCK development forum III

Satyrs and Maenads are revelers (more individual that hordes of Bacchae or whatever...) - they dance and seduce and are none too timid as a race. IMO not much needs to be said, except perhaps to say that female satyrs are often called Maenads. I've always thought of Nymphs as being something...

What Do you think of the revised Archmage?

Honestly? I think it sucked before and sucks now.

Attribute Score Generation - How Do You Do It?

1 million 3d6 sets (in order) - and I pick a level which I want to run the characters at - 1 in 10 is roughly equal to 25 point buy, whereas sometimes I feel 1 in 100,000 is better (or 1 in a million).

Are you glad that Increased Threat Ranges no longer stack?

Mixed feelings don't exist in your world, either? There are a number of reasons for a middle ground. Already, a great number of people are waiting to see how the rules will turn out as a whole. Also, you give 'this change is a definate improvement' and 'there has never been the slightest...

Are you glad that Increased Threat Ranges no longer stack?

Yeah I realized that 19-20/x3 would be the best in the game. Maybe just collapse everything into 20/x2-4, and not only allow improved crit and keen to stack, but add even more feats to the mix (probably not magical abilities pre-epic though). The orc crit problem can happen to anyone! 4th...
