(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Marl moves away from the wall, stepping into view in front of the nearby guard. "Ah, Biaust, Arngrim, I see that you two aren't sleeping at your posts. Good. I just spoke with the foreman and he asked me to check your alertness. Now, would you please tell me the identity of the man in white...

    Dru's Current Anime Favorites

Oh really.... I'd better check that out. Edit: but it's already licensed! Damn, too late for BT... My current favourite is probably GetBackers.

    Must Have DVDs

Hm... must have DVDs? That's tough. But it's on my mind, as I am moving to Japan shortly (and temporarily) and won't be able to take every DVD in my collection with me. Off the top of my head, from my collection: - The Superbit edition of Lawrence of Arabia. Who cares about special...

    Insecta Rules!: A Review

It's actually a good game, but Awakened, your review... ugh. Lord knows what this review is doing in a fiction forum, but there's no minis forum on ENWorld I guess. I should mention that I got my copy of Insecta about 10 years ago, and I've played it off and on quite a lot. It's a pretty good...

Have We Lost Our Way? Two masters on combat and alignment

Personally, - I think one minute rounds are unreasonably long. Yes, maybe it would take a while to get a telling blow in melee combat. But the movement that characters uninvolved in direct combat should be able to do in a minute (e.g. running up to attack, running up to the wall of a castle...

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Well, if they're that sense-deprived, Marl will sneak past them into the mine, staying close to the wall. OOC - Marl is trying to move silently (+9) and hide in the shadows (+11)

Even the 3.5 ranger is a wimp

I'm playing a Ranger 6/Windrider 2, and while slightly "crunchy" he is NOT usually one of the characters who gets knocked unconscious in combat. That's one of the side effects of using a bow when there are front-line fighters around. He's a real generalist, in the sense that I went with a...

    Recommended World Map Programs?

That page is odd, in that it has a link to version 1.21(?) but version 2 is the current one. Here's a link to the up-to-date Sourceforge page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/autorealm/ You can ABSOLUTELY use Autorealm for overland maps. Attached you'll find a portion of a map that I made...

    Favorite Bond Movie.

That was Dalton's 2nd Bond film, actually. I love the old Bonds, but there's something about The Living Daylights that I really like. In retrospect, Bond's Arab allies are a bit... ironic... but the film was kind of convincingly complex. The assassination scene was nicely done (and the...

Need a list of fantasy books that have thievery in them

Wow, that's shameful - I should have remembered! Jack also appeared in a short illustrated story called Shadowjack in The Illustrated Roger Zelazny. The books I was trying to remember earlier were indeed by Lynn Flewelling, thanks guys. :)

    [June] What are you reading?

Wow... they didn't use the original art. What idiots! What they used is... staggeringly bad. Anyhow, as far as non-fiction is concerned, I am... still... STILL... reading The Ancient Near East 3000-330 BC by Amelie Kuhrt (I think I've been reading it off and on for about 4 months, maybe...

Thanks, Jolmo, that was a great review. :)

A Newbie Game (New to Enworld PbP)

What's the etiquette with regards to who rolls dice? I think till now I've been letting the DM roll dice (in the background, if need be) for stealth stuff, and I see that Jolmo (aka Jagos) is doing the same. But recently the rest of the group was asked to make their own Listen checks...

Deep Discount DVD 20% off summer sale

The mad cackling you hear is my realization that I could get the Farscape Season 2 boxed set for $72 U.S. I can't really afford it but I just haaaaave to have it. I hope their free shipping includes Canada... except... damn, out of stock. And here's me about to move at the end of the...

    Craft Trapmaking

Nope, no examples, it's just an entry in the Skills chapter. Off the top of my head, reasonable DCs for quick traps might be 10 + 1/2 the trap setter's skill in Craft: Trapmaking. A bit like a spell saving throw. :) The bonus to hit for a spear/projectile trap could still be based on your roll.
