The Actual Table of Contents for Xanathar's Guide to Everything

For reference, the $20 Unearthed Arcana would be $47.51 now, or about the price of Xanathar's Guide.

The Actual Table of Contents for Xanathar's Guide to Everything

As someone who started D&D with 5e, it seems like the SCAG was targeted more at me than at someone like Gyor. It gave me a nice primer to the Forgotten Realms and why I might want to play in it, without being overwhelming in its level of detail.

    D&D 5E (2014) Do you like Subsubclasses?

It's kind of neat. It allows for a little more customization in classes that are otherwise fairly basic, and can be used to expand the options of a subclass without having to build an entirely new one (see Barbarians getting new totems) I think more of the nonmagical classes (specifically...

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

It's less that they're published as a Faerun specific thing, so much as Bladesinging as a lore concept seems to have a lot more baggage in the Forgotten Realms than in the other settings. Part of it might be that there's less Greyhawk in general, but I can't really find anything on how the...

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

I enjoyed the Battlerager on a mechanical basis, though I haven't had a chance to actually play one. My Realmslore is not there to say if it fits in a fluff perspective. Swashbuckler we know will be in Xanathar's guide (as Jeremy Crawford stated that it'll have some clarification that you...

D&D 5E (2014) Xanathar's Guide to Everything: What subclasses made the cut?

I thought that When Crawford said wizards don't get two, he also explicitly said they get one.

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

Originally, yes, but they've since become so associated with the Realms that I don't think WotC really considers them setting neutral anymore.

Human Fighters Most Common Race/Class Combo In D&D

That said, We don't know how many of these characters are actually characters intended to be played or just for messing around with in D&D Beyond.

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

Only 4 of the SCAG subclasses will be. And none of them will be any of the subclasses with Realms flavour (PDK is confirmed not to be in, and Bladesinger is almost certainly not going to be, as Bladesinging tradition is heavily associated with the Realms)

Here's The Wizard Spell List From Extra Life

Only if you're the kind of DM that allows everything. If you don't, then the EEPC isn't nearly as superfluous, as you might have a game that disallows some of the sources that reprint it, but allows the EEPC, granting that stuff anyway. The impression I got in the case of ToA and Yawning...

I'm curious what catnap will do. Is it a better sleep? Or will it screw with the rest mechanics?

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana October 2017: Fiendish Options

I like the boons. Definitely might have to snag a few for the gnoll warbands plowing across the lands. I'm still iffy on breaking up tieflings on subrace lines, rather than doing more of what the SCAG did, and providing a mishmash of options.

D&D 5E (2014) What Houserules Do You Use?

I've been meaning to borrow that rule at some point. Hard part is thinking of which world to add it to. As I said before, I like trying to customize the house rules to capture a specific tone from my setting, and I don't know which yet best fits the more chaotic combat.

D&D 5E (2014) What Houserules Do You Use?

Most of them are setting specific, but two I want to apply universally are: Beastmaster pet gets proficiency bonuses applied to all saves, revised ranger or no; and that the first person to come up with a recap of the last session gets an Inspiration. I might also allow Inspiration to be rolled...

D&D 5E (2014) Kenku - Poorly thought out race no matter how cool

Actually Kenku can use spell scrolls. As written, there's no mention of you needing to read it aloud, while it simply says "no components", which would include Verbal and Somatic, not just Material. As for casting the spell, remember that the Spellcasting rules specify that magic words aren't...

D&D 5E (2014) Homebrew Cleric Domain: LGBT Domain (Positive & Respectful)

To be honest, aside from some ability names, colour spray, and maybe shapechange (which I assume is supposed to be the legally required one nod to acknowledge trans people fall under his umbrella), I don't really see what makes this an LGBT domain, let alone something that isn't meant to be a...

3 Magic Feats: Magical Weapon, Magic Manipulation, & Cantrip Master

I have some problems with Cantrip master letting you double dip on your bonus to damage. While it does at least have a clause to prevent abuse with Eldritch Blast, there's something uncomfortable with letting people stack on multiples of their best stat to damage.

D&D 5E (2014) Point Buy vs Rolling for Stats

I like rolling more for the element of chaos than any pretense of "realism". Clattering dice on the table and then figuring out how it makes my concept easier or harder is fun. That said, I always allow players to use the standard Array if they think their rolls look unfun.
