"Exclusive new pages from D&D’s next sourcebook, Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes "

Oh definitely. I was pointing out that nothing released about this book indicated it would conform to FR lore; I just neglected to mention previous precedence.

"Exclusive new pages from D&D’s next sourcebook, Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes "

Well, this book is named after a Greyhawk figure, and nothing in its marketing suggested it's an FR book, but setting agnostic. The most we know about specific worlds being mentioned is that the in the drow video, JC said they would touch upon how the elven origins might manifest differently on...

D&D 5E (2014) I know *exactly* what "Many Eyes" means

Likewise, apparently the roots of the shift in their nature (based on the belief that the prophecy was misread) can also be found in old AD&D resources, or so I've heard.

"Stream of Many Eyes" -- WotC To Announce New Storyline In June

I'm expecting it to be like the Storm King's Thunder/Volo's Guide to Monsters or the Tomb of Annihilation/Xanathar's Guide to everything announcements. The storyline is heavily hinted at and it becomes fairly obvious what direction they'll go with it beforehand, but it's basically a diversion so...

Dungeons & Dragons has 15 Million Players in NA Alone; Storyline Is "The Da Vinci Code meets Gangs o

Er... The United States (325.7 Million people) makes up half to two thirds the population of North America (579 Million). If you're counting South America, then that's more accurate (As that adds a further bonus of 422.5 million.) There's more people in California than all of Canada. EDIT...

6-8 Encounters a long rest is, actually, a pretty problematic idea.

I've not had issues with when/how often my party rests in my games, but then my group isn't the type to game the rest system, either because they don't think to, because I've shown my enemies capable of counter planning against overdoing resting strategies, or because they consider it...

6-8 Encounters a long rest is, actually, a pretty problematic idea.

The flow of progression I believe Blue's referring to is as follows: Without cantrips you'd need more spell slots (lest we run into the issue of, "I cast my one spell for the day, I'll wait for you back at the tavern"), and that more spell slots would necessarily require weaker spells so as to...

"Theater of the Mind" or Map and Minis?

I prefer TotM, but my players prefer minis. I find TotM is better for my immersion, though the odd scenery picture is super useful. The bird's eye view of the map makes it hard for me to accept that the map isn't a fixed location, but that its contents are malleable.

Would you rather have Expertise or Advantage on a roll?

Expertise because it raises the absolute lowest and highest I can roll. Advantage changes the likelihood of results, but not the range of results.

D&D 5E (2014) LMoP into Curse of Strahd

I believe CoS has an opening that works more or less like you suggest. If you intend to skip Death House (I know you want to run it, but I personally would skip Death House, as it's mostly there to get you to level 3, and doesn't tie into the larger story that well) then I'd use the werewolf...

    Why I dislike Milestone XP

Is this 1 XP per penny spent, or 1 XP for every dollar?

    Why I dislike Milestone XP

Well they almost made it hard on themselves by the socially awkward cleric trying to sell her rope to the owner (an especially burly elf woman), telling them it would help lose weight, getting the party kicked out with no potato. Luckily, it was a decently sized city (11k inhabitants or so) so...

    Why I dislike Milestone XP

I generally use experience points, though I'll reward it for various tasks. My players went on an quest to find potatoes, an imported food in my setting, going to the big city and getting some. Since this task was easy, and they were level one, they only got 25 XP, but it's me dipping my toes...

Don't these already exist, as the boxes of Minis?

D&D 5E (2014) Suggest different wild surge results

My favourite effect from the table is result 10000: Nearest star goes Supernova. RIP campaign.

Unearthed Arcana Spores, Brutes, and Inventors: Unearthed Arcana Brings You Three New Subclasses

I actually had a slightly different idea for metamagic on the wizard. Rather than it being 1/short rest, it should instead be something like it gets 1/3 the sorcery points the sorcerer gets, minimum of one. This would prevent a wizard from ever being able to use it on their best spell slots...

Unearthed Arcana Spores, Brutes, and Inventors: Unearthed Arcana Brings You Three New Subclasses

I can see it working for An artificer, as a table of "unintended side effects." Say you're making a balm to coat on your fighter's sword for additional fire damage. It does that, but what if it also seems to feel soothing to the touch, to the point that you're certain it has the effects of calm...

D&D 5E (2014) Making Intelligence Less of a Dump Stat

I went with something similar before the final Xanathar's Guide to Everything revisited Downtime rules were published. What I did was that every +1 to INT was an additional day "learned" for every physical day. so a +1 would make every downtime day of learning count as 2 days, effectively...

    Morrus' New Years' RPG Resolutions

I really want to try the "Shared campaign" appendix in Xanathar's Guide to Everything, but I still need to find enough people to warrant trying it.

    D&D Movie/TV New D&D Movie: July 23rd 2021

I'm guessing this depends on what we mean by "spells zapping back and forth". I still want the magic to be recognizably D&D in the way it affects the battle. Grease being splashed onto the ground; fireballs exploding in the distance; Stinking clouds being used with gusts of wind to try and...
