    got Wilderlands?

You, sir, must be a lucky gnome, because no sooner had you uttered those words than my order shipped! :D Thanks for the well-wishing. Apparently it works!

Where you at? Add yourself to the EN World map

You know, this is a far better way of finding gamers in your vicinity than any bulletin board or want-ad I've ever seen. Mods should sticky this in the Gamers Looking for Gamers section or something.

    got Wilderlands?

Dangnabbit, Amazon just cancelled my order for the Black Company and I have a feeling they're about to do the same to my Wilderlands order. Ah, well, at least my GM has a copy I could borrow off him if need be...

The Temple of Elemental Evil - your experiences?

It was interesting to read, but immensely boring to play. I quit D&D for a long time because of it. Played better games in the meantime (Talislanta, Shadowrun). To be fair, it may have been the bad DMing that turned it into a mindless dungeon hackfest.

Best D20/OGL Setting I SHOULD Own

Talislanta is a very rich and exotic setting. If you liked the stories of Jack Vance (The Dying Earth), it has exactly that kind of feel. Get the Big Blue Book (v4), it's a complete setting and game in one giant tome. Conan is also good, and I hope someone does Lankhmar 3.5E.

    What do you usually play?

Iron Heroes not an option? Usually it's homebrew rules.

    Shackled City: Week Ten

Judging by the size of the threads here at ENWorld, I'd say the World's Largest Dungeon may be the big shared experience. I have seen a lot of people starting the Age of Worms AP though. I'm in a game of that myself.

Which is the Best WOTC Setting to Purchase?

Forgotten Realms is good for beginners, Eberron is better for jaded, experienced players. If you grew up on the old Gold Box video games, or played Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate, then that's all Forgotten Realms. I like it for the nostalgia value and because I'm so familiar with it after...

    got Wilderlands?

Ordered it from Amazon.ca yesterday. Might get it for Christmas if I'm lucky. The free PDF preview that Necro released really got its hooks into me, and now I want the whole thing. It'd better be worth the wait!

Rules -- when do you break 'em?

I break rules when the rules are no fun. I change rules when the existing rules fly in the face of reason. I let players do cool stuff if everyone is enjoying the situation; no amount of RAW can save a situation that's boring. The rules in roleplaying games are meant to be bent, because that too...

Converting Age of Worms to the Wilderlands: a few questions

Yeah, I want to hear more about the WoHF too. :) I take it that there is a lot of similarity between Greyhawk and Wilderlands in the old-school department?

Castle Maure - Not All That

I think the problem is that most adventures are written, and read by the DM, from an "omniscient" point-of-view. They're fun for the DM but boring for the players because the players never see the cool machinery behind the set unless they're exceptionally clever and investigative. Some might say...

Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss

Shemmie, dear, no offence but your namesake prances around town shopping for dresses and preens herself in a mirror. My avatar-sake sits in a shop in a mortal city and sells trinkets. Look at your avatar. It's cute 'n all, but it ain't demonic. It's too human, with human foibles tacked on too...

Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss

This book is good news for planar adventurers, surely. Perhaps it will buttress a more comprehensive effort to flesh out the planes in third edition. Much as I love Planescape, there are elements of it that really were not well done, and the demons and devils are one of those. It would be far...

Custom Adventures? (Inspired by the Underdark Thread)

Well, as the original poster who wanted a drow-free underdark adventure, I would love to have someone do this for me, but I don't see anyone making money off it. Bespoke production is incredibly expensive, which is why most businesses moved to assembly lines. With the market for a custom module...

    Conventions In Ontario/Québec?

Didn't we just have a big rpg/scifi/anime/horror convention in Toronto, like, last month? Aug 26 http://www.sfcrowsnest.com/library/zones/2005/nz8234.php

    Looking for Underdark Adventures...

Yes, I do have the Underdark book (and I like it a lot), but it doesn't have a complete adventure, let alone a campaign. It has a very short mini-adventure in the back. I was looking more for an exploration-travelling adventure that takes the party from one end of the Underdark to the other...

    Looking for Underdark Adventures...

Does anyone know of any Underdark adventures that don't involve drow? I'd like to run/tweak/design a campaign using the Underdark sourcebook but without the ubiquitous spider-worshippers. My players are sick of them. ("Try the Drow Drow & Umber Hulks, it's only got a little bit of Drow in it.")

Have you become disillusioned with 3rd edition?

Yes, disillusioned with 3.5E, but then I've never been happy with any D&D version and I always tinker with the rules. I really like the Iron Heroes and Conan d20 systems though.
