To be honest I've only run them a handful of times. They're not designed to be taken on every adventure because they're slow and since I designed them without saves, I treat them like objects. They're fun for an encounter or two and then break Mega Man X style, which is exactly what I wanted.

The DMG gives options for lingering injuries for grittier games, but I thought the options presented could be more modular. I've created a few variant house rules which allow for the turning the frequency of injuries up and down and more types of lingering injuries to bring to your table...
