D&D 5E (2014) Cure Wounds: does it heal amputees?

Thanks, folks! Looks like I was on the right track. For 5e PHB Owners: is there a Regenerate spell on the book?

D&D 5E (2014) Cure Wounds: does it heal amputees?

Honest question: a Cleric finds a traveler down the road who has just escaped from a goblin cave, where he's been kept alive while the monsters slowly ate small pieces of him. Can the Cleric just cast Cure Wounds and make his fingers and/or hand magically reappear? I'm leaning towards "no", but...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bracers of Defense

I was surprised by a +3 AC item, since I was hoping for something along the lines of "the Bracers set your AC at 15+Dex mod". I seems they wanted to make them viable for Monks and Barbarians, who would be pretty shafted if these couldn't be used with their class features for calculating AC.

    D&D 5E (2014) First Legendary Monster!

*rolls for Initiative* *dies* Damn, that's one mean Adult Blue Dragon  (and it's "only" Challenge 16. Wonder what a C20 monster looks like!)

D&D 5E (2014) Instant gratification versus saving money

My only choice is Amazon, so I can't help but save money. Now, if I could get the PHB for $50 RIGHT NOW... I'd probably buy it, then buy HotDQ later.

D&D 5E (2014) Is it just me or does it look like we are getting the "must have feats" once again?

Honestly, I couldn't say. I don't have the book, and even when I get it I couldn't possibly tell just by looking at them. Feats that look pretty strong in paper might not come into play as often as they'd need to be all that effective, and feats that look weak might come in handy more than it...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rolling for Stats

I used to be a big fan of rolling for stats, and I think it still works for one-shot adventures, but I'm not running a campaign without players using the standard array or point buy. I had far too many cases of Superman hanging out with a few Joe Averages and a Totally Useless Guy (whose...

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats / Multiclassing

Both of these rules are explicitly called out to be optional to the DM:

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats / Multiclassing

I will be using Feats for sure, but in the case of Multiclassing I'm going to ask the player "Why?" and decide on a case-by-case basis. Don't mean to sound pedantic, but I like multiclassing as a rule for character development, not character optimization.

D&D 5E (2014) How Many Magic Items Are You Planning On Handing Out?

I plan handing out as few magic items as possible. It all depends on how true is the "PCs don't need magical items anymore to keep up with monsters as they level up" promise. My thoughts exactly. I want to make the prospect of unearthing a magic item exciting and unique, not something mundane.

Don't trust Amazon delivery dates. I preordered the Starter Set and it arrived on July the 17th, while Amazon's estimated delivery was the 22nd at best.

Just wanted to mention Fighters can double their attacks for the round once or twice per encounter by using Action Surge. It makes quite a big difference!
