Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

A work in progress. The Abomimabear from Zombicide! That’s right, a zombie bear. Fur and hair is something I still have a difficult time with, thankfully this model has some texture in there making it a little easier. I started with a base coat of Vallejo Japanese Uniform which is some sort...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I don't really do any scale modeling myself, but I am very impressed with what's available on the market to get a more accurate model. Some of the companies, like Tamiya, produce some great models for what seems like a very reasonable price when compared to Games Workshop. But then what...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I looked at the first photo at thought, "Sure, 1:1 is a scale. I guess." Very cool. I used to work at a military museum and we had in our collection a buttload of models from someone's collection. On occasion we'd pull the appropriate model out and put that puppy on display. I keep hearing...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I've started to use my .2 mm airbrush for my regular sized models now. It's great for applying filters, shadows, or off source lighting effects. But you can do any of that with a regular brush if you're not impatient like I am.

    When disagreeing…

Current best practice is to be direct and to the point, but respectful, when speaking to an employee about a disciplinary issue. I think a lot of us would simply be better served by remembering we're mostly just sharing opinions.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

While it won't ever completely supplant my brushes, the airbrush really speeds things up, especially for larger models. Though I've also started using one of my airbrushes for work on smaller miniatures. I've got plans for that myconid queen if I ever get my hands on it. Yours looks great by...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

I agree. We've all got limited cash and time to invest in RPGs, so if you're invested heavily in Call of Cthulhu or D&D you're less likely to become heavily invested in a similar game that scratches that same itch. Maybe not you or anyone else who posts here, we're weirdos, but for most people...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

That's really the root of the issue. What will sell? With a few exceptions, I don't think anyone knows what will sell let alone what might become the next runaway hit. Did anyone in 1991 think Vampire the Masquerade was making the way for a line of products that included 8+ games like Mage...

What Game Publishers Are Saying About The Tariffs

If it's in Arkansas the five acres probably didn't cost anything close to $5 million. I wish 'em luck. It'll take a while for them to be up and running, but even without a trade war going on I hope they can make a good run at providing printing services.

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

But...but...you're doing it wrong. Just kidding. That's cool. Different strokes for different folks. It's hard enough for me to play all the games I want to play, I've pretty much just accepted Pendragon will always be just out of reach, so when I play a different game I typically choose one...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

I don't mean to imply there isn't any room for other games revolving around supernatural investigations. There's Vaesen, Beyond the Supernatural, Esoterrorist, Kult, GURPS (various books), Chill, Conspiracy X, East Texas University, etc., etc. It's just that Arkham Horror and Candela Obscura...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

I'd rather companies catered to my wants and needs as well, but I'm not sure they could remain in business if they revolve their marketing around me. I owned Nightlife, 2nd edition I think, and at the time Vampire was just so much more popular that it wasn't even a contest. I don't know if...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I've got two of those, the Adam West Batmobile and one other, that I've had for years but have yet to assemble. That Falcon looks sweet.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

Another mini from Archon Studios. The Observer because I think beholder was already taken. At $19 dollars, it's well worth the price. I don't think it's all that great for a beginner, the way the tentacles twist around make them a little difficult to paint, but for $19 I'm not complaining too...
