I'm picking up the 3 core books. I'll buy a pack of the randomized mini's and if I'm happy with them I'll buy more. (I'm a sucker for these things?) I don't necessarily expect to use 3.5, but I like to collect.

Monsternomicon - A goldmine of ideas and neat-o creatures. Plus I like the layout and art of the book. CC2 - I like the weirder monsters in there. Monster Manual - 'cause the classics never die. Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss - you can never have enough fiends.

Voted Gnolls. But only because they seem more template friendly. But I'd really love to see a gnoll-illithid crossbreed. A Gnillithid? Illitholl? Nah. Sounds too much like something that goes into your car.

I once used an advanced flesh golem made from frost giant parts that came from a clan of frost giants the party defeated in a previous game. They thought it was a frost giant zombie. :D

I always played it as how I needed it to work to make something viable. If I needed some skeleton guardians that lasted for hundreds or thousands of years, then they didn't decompose or turn to dust. Zombies might decompose, but they would never decompose enough to point of simply being...
