    D&D 5E (2014) New D&D product listed on Amazon

Are there any Undermountain references in the MM?

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The ranger, revised... overcompensation?

It's honestly maybe not the BEST play test. Considering I KNOW to pick Giants as my greater enemy and the early combats are especially stacked against us.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The ranger, revised... overcompensation?

For whatever it's worth, I am playing one in Storm King's Thunder. I tried to weaken him ahead of time but the DM was like, "eh let's see if it actually matters" Honestly it didn't really feel any stronger than the monk or paladin and I still felt LESS cool than the Bard. Only two sessions...

D&D 5E (2014) Running a Maze: Is there a better way to do it?

Haha, You're right of course. I just wondered if there were techniques to "game it up" I suppose a modified version of a 4e Skill Challenge would kinda add some narrative sweep to it if done correctly? Kinda just covering the navigation aspect in a montage...

D&D 5E (2014) Running a Maze: Is there a better way to do it?

This is actually great advice thanks. Something like this will let me make a "maze" but still let the players feel like they have agency beyond wandering around and using chaulk. EDIT: Ah! A few good ideas! Thanks!

D&D 5E (2014) Running a Maze: Is there a better way to do it?

I'm curious if there is a better way to run a maze. Are there any tips or tricks to make it more mechanically interesting? Or does it really just boil down to slowly drawing a map as the players navigate, adding some traps.. maybe a teleporter? There HAS to be a way to make it more interesting.

D&D 5E (2014) Primeval Awareness and other hidden gems

Primeval Awareness is kinda funny. My Ranger was like, "wait... it get's WORSE in my favored terrain?" Me, "No... it extends to 6 miles." Ranger, "Right. That's less accurate. I don't care if a monster is 6 miles away." Me, "Umm... F***... Let's say you can control how far it's range is in your...

D&D 5E (2014) Interesting multiclass options for an avenging Paladin?

Cool character concept! I wonder if it wouldn't be thematically interesting to go Fighter and use it to fuel your role-play as a person looking for their purpose in a world. Opening you up to going back to Paladin or a 3rd class without a lot of complication. Stuff like that can give a DM a lot...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Would I Play a Ranger?

*shrug* With colossus slayer the ranger at my table easily deals the most damage per round and has saved the party from multiple levels of exhaustion in a recent mountain scaling adventure.

D&D 5E (2014) Reflecting on advantage and disadvantage.

No one is really describing an actual issue here, just framing a preference as one. They're essentially just saying they like doing math. Which is fine, but not an inherent positive for the average gamer. Like, the idea that giving someone a +2 or a +3 is more "accurate" than advantage feels...

    D&D 5E (2014) Eliminating skill & feat taxes

I dunno, not in my experience I guess. Your mileage may vary. I see where you are coming from though. I personally haven't had less fun playing 5e because of any skill stuff.

    D&D 5E (2014) Examples of a Strength Saving Throw

    D&D 5E (2014) Eliminating skill & feat taxes

I'm with you in theory, but when you have too few non-combat proficiencies with 5 or 6 PCs you can get spotlight issues. For example, if I am a high charisma bard with a extroverted personality, I can railroad almost every conversation if there i only one social skill. However, with the current...

D&D 5E (2014) Persuade, Intimidate, and Deceive used vs. PCs

To a certain degree that's RP and just player knowledge vs character knowledge, but I would just give the player an inspiration point if they play along and give them disadvantage on any rolls they make to the contrary.

D&D 5E (2014) What classes do you want added to 5e?

Sounds like a cool Bard subclass I always liked the "Blade" kit from 2e

D&D 5E (2014) Along the lines of another post: What player RACES would you like to see added to 5e?

Drow are in the PHB I'm into the rest - though I don't find myself at a shortage personally. Cambion doesn't really appeal to me, just because I fluff Tieflings a little different than many.

Now You Can Play With Vin Diesel's WITCH HUNTER Class!

It just lowers your max HP. The phrasing threw me off for a second too.

Now You Can Play With Vin Diesel's WITCH HUNTER Class!

This is a pretty cool class actually. Blood Rite seems a little nutty though. I'd have to see how much the HP payment matters in practice, but it feels like a build with a solid attack mod and a high Con bonus would be insane at low levels.

D&D 4th Edition Player's Handbook Now In PDF

I like 4e as a tactical miniature RPG hybrid, but at this point I would want the errata.
