Looking for GMs to Playtest Biopunk / Cyberpunk Game

It's made using the 5E OGL, so D&D players can jump right in! Let me know if you are interested. - 8 new classes (biohacker, codehacker, crook, engineer, gunfighter, hardcase, samurai, suit) - 20 new archetypes - 13 new genomes (like races, but have a greater impact on base abilities due to the...

    D&D 5E (2014) spells with attack rolls?

Consider level 2 Warlock, rest Sorc wild mage! Twinned agonizing blast or quickened scorching ray using higher spell slots for more rays + agonizing blast would work very well with advantage.

D&D 5E (2014) Polearm Master feat: very good?

Love it with Paladin, since improved smite/elemental weapon applies to the 1d4!

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

I don't have that module, but you CAN get pretty damn good AC with Fighter 1/Sorc X. 21 from fullplate/shield/defense mastery, 23 with +2 from haste, 28 with +5 from shield spell (worth casting every round you get hit for sure). All of this is without any items, and I think the Staff of...

D&D 5E (2014) Elemental Weapon and Elemental Affinity

Hmm, if it's only when cast, perhaps it wouldn't apply to Witchbolt and the like on subsequent rounds?

D&D 5E (2014) Elemental Weapon and Elemental Affinity

Let's say you have a Bard 6 (lore)/Sorc 6(dragon) who takes the "Elemental Weapon" spell as magical secrets, would they apply their sorc elemental affinity bonus to damage rolls with that weapon? The question as to why one would even do this instead of Haste, even with the affinity bonus, is a...

D&D 5E (2014) I got inspired by this picture. How do I flesh him out as the Big Bad?

Could be a warlock, pact with the elder beholder "Xanathar", the one that controls the thieves guild in Skullport! It would be cool to make him the master of the Skullport thieves guild, the emissary to Xanathar. Since he's a big bad, you could give him ALL the class features of both warlock...

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimal Multiclassing

There are some nice ones, like the crit meister in OP! I like half orc 3 fighter/17 barb a lot. Great weapon fighting style, action surge, Crit on 19-20 from fighter, which works GREAT with Brutal critical 3 and half orc critical, doing an extra 5d12 reroll 1s and 2s on crits. 12 Paladin/8...

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimal Multiclassing

Love the multiclassing in 5th, cool flavours and for those who love to make powerful characters you can coax small advantages out at higher levels with synergies but nothing game breaking. In past editions multi/prestige classing could be much more unbalancing! Powerful combos often only emerge...

Help reign in a player who refuses to play his role

Make him remake his character as a rogue with a paladin multiclass. It sounds like in his mind he is being a good role-player, playing up the Raven Queen thing. And perhaps hes right that a pure paladin defender may not accomodate what he has in mind. However a dagger using rogue that...

D&D 4E 4E, Healing, and Suspension of Disbelief

Vitality/Wound system > Hit Point system. It would be very compatible with 4ed as well. For those unfamiliar, it was used in many of the 3ed d20 products, most notably Star Wars. Have your cake and eat it to. Accounts for endurance/luck/morale/heroicness in a separate pool from actual...

    D&D 4E Min/Maxing in 4e

God yes it favors min maxing! We've gone from having 1 dump stat (usually CHA) to 3. Since stats are determined from the better of 2 and attack rolls are always from your classes 1, much easier to have 3 8s and not care (or 10, 10, 8, whatever). The 3 dump stats vary from class to class but...

D&D 4E 4E, Healing, and Suspension of Disbelief

Vitality/Wound FTW! Seriously, easy fix. Vitality=luck/fatigue/bruising/fleshwounds Wounds=bleeding and broken bones, chance of death. If this makes it too hard to kill the characters, can always take the CON bonus to Vitality away (Since that is represented by the Wounds).

D&D 4E 4E, Healing, and Suspension of Disbelief

I hear you, it bothers me to. Thats why I've always loved the Wound/Vitality system that Starwars and other d20 games use. You have your abstract luck, toughness, vigor represented with Vitality but your actual health isn't in dire straights until you lose Wound points (the rest is merely...

    Dwarven Durability - Infernal Sweetness

Wow, just saw that paragon feats today, Dwarven Durability looks nice. 2 extra healing surges and CON bonus to healing surge value? Awesome! At 12th level a Dwarven Warlock with 24 CON, thats a +7 healing surge value. They could have 101 HP, 15 healing surges, with a healing value of 32...
